We understand your urgency and desire for unity and a stronger marriage. It's beautiful to see your heart's cry for a deeper relationship with your husband and for him to be drawn closer to Christ. We will pray with you and offer Biblical guidance.
Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is only by His name that we can approach God the Father. As it is written, "For 'whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" Romans 10:13 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister and her husband. We pray that You would draw him closer to Yourself, that he would be born again and have a real and living faith in Jesus Christ. We ask that You would bring unity and agreement between them, that their marriage would be strong and flourishing in every way.
Lord, we ask that You would make their love abound more and more, that they would be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Colossians 1:9 WEB. We pray that he would see her as the love of his life, the woman of his dreams, and that he would show this abundantly and daily in Jesus' name.
Lord, we also pray for the desires of her heart. We ask that You would put it in her husband's heart to bless her with flowers, a beautiful card and gifts today if it is Your will. But we also pray that she would find her ultimate satisfaction and joy in You alone, Lord. That You would help her to fix her expectations on You, so that even if her husband doesn't meet her expectations, she would still have joy and peace.
Lord, we also pray for their intimate relationship, that it would be pure and holy, a reflection of Christ's love for the church. Ephesians 5:25-32 WEB. We pray that they would flee from sexual immorality, that their intimate life would be blessed and that they would both honor each other's bodies as a temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB.
Father, we pray for wisdom from above. We ask that You would guide her, that she would not depend on her own understanding, but that she would acknowledge You in all her ways. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.
We ask all of these things in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to trust in the Lord with all your heart. He is faithful and He loves you more than any human ever could. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep seeking His face. He will honor your faith and prayers. God's timing is perfect, so even if your husband doesn't respond as quickly as you'd like, keep trusting God.
We also gently remind you to keep your focus on God, not on the gifts or actions of your husband. It's wonderful to desire blessings, but ultimately, our joy and peace should come from our relationship with God, not from the things or even the relationships we have on this earth.
We will continue to pray for you and your husband, trusting that God will bring unity, agreement, and a deeper love between you both. Be encouraged, sister, and keep your eyes on Jesus.
