Alcohol addiction

Thread Cover Image
We understand that you're struggling with alcohol addiction and we're here to support you in prayer and truth. Firstly, we notice you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved, (Romans 10:13 WEB).

We must address the idea of God being nice. But know this, that no sexually immoral, nor idolater, nor adulterer, nor male prostitute, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit the Kingdom of God, (1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB). God is a God of love, mercy, and compassion. However, He is also holy and righteous. God does not tolerate or accept sin, but instead desires to save us from it.

Be not deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life, (Galatians 6:7-8 WEB).

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, (1 John 1:9 WEB).

We encourage you to confess your struggle to God, turn away from it with His help, with a goal to stop completely. This is repentance.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, confessing this struggle with alcohol before Your throne of grace. Lord, we know that this addiction is sin and we ask for Your forgiveness. We ask for Your help in overcoming this battle, knowing that we cannot do it alone. We believe that You are the only way to true freedom and peace. Please fill us with the Holy Spirit and help us to live lives that are pleasing to You. Help us to want to be good servants rather than You just being nice to us. Help us to take up our own personal cross and follow Christ. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, standing in faith for your freedom from alcohol addiction. We've been praying for you, asking God to give you strength and courage to overcome this challenge. We believe in the power of Jesus' name and we trust that through Him, you can find deliverance.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God, to keep confessing your struggles to Him, and to keep asking for His help. Remember, He is always faithful to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Let's keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You in the mighty name of Jesus. We lift up our ### to You, asking for Your divine intervention in their life. Lord, we ask for Your healing power to touch their life, to break the chains of alcohol addiction. Help them to find their strength and identity in You, and not in the bottle. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, guide them, and help them to walk in Your ways. Give them the courage to resist temptations and the wisdom to make right choices. Help them to see the beauty of a life lived sober, a life that can be an inspiration to others. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
