We are truly heartbroken to hear about the struggle your family is facing with your younger brother's alcohol addiction. This is a heavy burden, but we are here to pray and support you in Jesus' name.
Firstly, let us address the issue of addiction. The Bible tells us to be sober-minded and self-controlled.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Galatians 5:19-21 19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, 21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Your brother's behavior is not only harmful to him but also to your family. We must pray for his deliverance and healing. Your mom prays and fasts, which is good.
Matthew 17:21 But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this family that is suffering due to alcohol addiction. Lord, we know that this is a spiritual battle of sin, and we ask for Your intervention. We pray for this young man, that You would deliver him from this bondage and further sin. Break the chains of addiction and set him free by the power of the Holy Spirit. Help him in his civil engineering profession to be free from alcohol and redeem his career for your glory.
We also lift up the family, especially the parents who are suffering greatly. Give them peace and guidance. Give them your grace, strength, and wisdom. We pray for the sister, who is struggling with a young baby and the mental pressure from this situation. Lord, give her your comfort and peace. We pray for the father, that You would give him strength and healing in his old age and sickness.
We pray for this family's unity and healing. Turn this trial into a testimony of Your faithfulness to future generations.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Stand firm in your faith and continue to pray for your brother and our Heavenly Father being sovereign will answer. We are reminded that it is so important to pray in the name of Jesus, for it is by his name that we have confidence that God hears us.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
John 16:23-24 In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
It is only by the name of Jesus we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, through which we must be saved.
We join with you in these prayers and trusting God to be with you and your brother.
