We are thrilled to hear that ### is sober and has Jesus in her heart, mind, and soul. This is a wonderful testimony of God's transforming power in her life. Let us come together in prayer and support for ###, that she may continue to grow in her faith and live a life that honors God.
Let us remember the words of 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" WEB. ###'s life is a reflection of this verse, and we rejoice in her newfound sobriety and commitment to Jesus Christ.
However, we must also remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms Ephesians 6:12. We pray that ### will continue to put on the full armor of God, so that she can take her stand against the devil’s schemes. We pray that she will stand firm with the belt of truth buckled around her waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with her feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace Ephesians 6:13-15. In addition to all this, we pray that she will take up the shield of faith, with which she can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. We ask that she will take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God Ephesians 6:16-17. And that she will pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, we will be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people Ephesians 6:18.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today to lift up our sister ###. We thank you for the work you have done in her life, for setting her free from addiction and drawing her close to you. We pray that you would continue to strengthen her faith and help her to live a life that is pleasing to you.
We pray that you would surround ### with godly friends and mentors who can support her and encourage her in her walk with you. We ask that you would guide her steps and give her wisdom as she seeks to follow you.
We also pray that you would protect ### from the schemes of the enemy. Help her to stand firm in her faith and to put on the full armor of God each day. Give her strength to resist temptation and to remain sober, with a clear mind and a heart that is fully devoted to you.
We ask that you continue to heal ###. We pray that you would heal her body, mind, and spirit, and that you would help her to overcome any lingering effects of her past. We ask that you would give her hope and a future, and that you would use her story to bring glory to your name.
We pray all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, the name by which we are saved. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father as recorded in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Amen.
We encourage ### to remain steadfast in her faith and to continue to seek God's will for her life. We remind her of the promise in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose" (WEB).
###, we rejoice with you in your new life in Christ. We encourage you to stay strong in your faith, to study God's word, and to surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you. Remember that God is always with you, and that he will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6, WEB).
We also encourage ### to share her testimony with others, that they may see the power of God at work in her life and be drawn to him. We pray that God would use ###'s story to bring hope and healing to others who are struggling with addiction and to draw them into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
