Humble Prayer Partner
My mother has been suffering from a thrombotic stroke for over two months now. I am deeply grateful for everyone’s prayers and support! Initially, the left side of her body was paralyzed, but now she can move her left foot. However, the road to recovery is still very challenging. Due to poor circulation on her left side, she has developed nail fungus, fungal infections, and sebaceous cysts—we’re very concerned about the risk of further infections. She also has atrial fibrillation and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and we worry that taking too many medications may place an additional burden on her liver and kidneys. Moreover, her calf muscles have severely atrophied, and her foot joints are stiff. Please pray that God would personally touch my mother, strengthen her heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys, give her steadfast faith, and help her stand and walk again soon—without any signs of dementia! Currently, my mother is living in a nursing home where one caregiver is responsible for ten residents. She is often physically restrained, which limits her mobility, and her golden three-month recovery period is coming to an end. She deeply longs to return home to recover. My sister, heartbroken by her situation, also wants to bring her home to care for her. However, my mother is quite heavy, and our home has many stairs, so my sister is unable to manage on her own. We are in the process of applying for a foreign caregiver to come help at home, but the attending physician is unwilling to issue the Barthel Index assessment, which is necessary for the application. Thankfully, my sister has found a doctor who will see my mother on April ###. Please pray that this doctor will be willing to issue a suitable Barthel Index so we can complete the application and bring in the help she urgently needs!
