Is it possible that some teaching may be distracting us from the Great Commission?

Matthew 24:36 (also Mark 13:32)
But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.

So why do we go on year after year focus on the timing of something that no one can possibly know? Some Christians are more prone to share their beliefs on the intricacies of these future events rather than share the Great Commission itself. In some circles it has become a great distraction.

After the Lord's resurrection He met with His disciples.

Acts 1:6-7
6. Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

7. He said to them, It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.

All verses in red are spoken by our Saviour Jesus and not by any of His disciples. We are getting the information straight from the Lord's mouth. His powerful words teaches us that no one knows when God will restore Israel's kingdom. So why do many obsess themselves with attempting to unravel the Father's time table? It's pointless in focusing on such things especially when we risk missing out on the following verse to Act:1:7;

Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Our marching orders does not include to be obsessive with endtimes teachings but to spread the Loving Gospel. It should be noted that Jesus delineates or separates the 'mission to witness to the world' from the need to know the timing of God's restoration plans. In facts Jesus refocuses the disciples attention away from their question and onto witnessing to everyone.

Let us not be distracted by worldly things. Share the Loving Gospel of Christ to the world! Your lamp needs to be brightly burning now. Your attention needs to be on God's Great Commission.

My friend;

This blog is about those people dwelling on endtimes as opposed to our great Commissions. Endtimes is not needed for salvation.

Friend, without any disrespect whatsoever and so that you understand my view and my blog; adhering to the gospel is all you need for salvation. Other dogma can distract from the Gospel. So dogma should not precede the Salvation message.

You said;
1. those who have washed their robes in the blood of the lamb and 2. is without spot or wrinkle 3. who love His appearing will gain the victory.

All conditions are reached by sharing the Gospel only. Endtimes dogma are not pivotal to our salvation. And your 3rd point is extracted from 2Timothy 4:8.
It reads...

6. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Notice that Apostle Paul is aware that is time is short. He will be executed but he still is looking forward to his crown of Righteousness. He still has great anticipation in meeting Jesus. His ministry was about Jesus being the way to salvation, it was about faith, the law of love, God's grace and mercy. He was not focused on endtimes. He was too busy teaching about faith and our Saviour. He preached the good news right to the end. He fought a good fight off faith.
Remember the operative word is focused or 'top heavy' into Eschatology. Paul was not! He mentioned a few things about that great day but does not dwell on it. He's more interested in preparing our hearts with salvation as oppose to filling our heads with less urgent matter.
If one does not get the salvation message into their hearts, they won't meet Jesus. So what good is dwelling on the endtimes in the first place, if your heart is not in Jesus.

Endtime is not important, the identity of the Antichrist is not important, pre, mid, post tribulations are not important, the Kingdom Theology is not important...
IF JESUS IS NOT IN YOUR HEART!
And that is my message. I'm about understanding God's Love in my heart -in the present, the here and now. I have no time to be obsess with future events. It can become a great distractor.

Truly, nothing but Love.
