The great distraction or the Great Commission.

Is it possible that some teaching may be distracting us from the Great Commission?

Matthew 24:36 (also Mark 13:32)
But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.

So why do we go on year after year focus on the timing of something that no one can possibly know? Some Christians are more prone to share their beliefs on the intricacies of these future events rather than share the Great Commission itself. In some circles it has become a great distraction.

After the Lord's resurrection He met with His disciples.

6. Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

7. He said to them, It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.

All verses in red are spoken by our Saviour Jesus and not by any of His disciples. We are getting the information straight from the Lord's mouth. His powerful words teaches us that no one knows when God will restore Israel's kingdom. So why do many obsess themselves with attempting to unravel the Father's time table? It's pointless in focusing on such things especially when we risk missing out on the following verse to Act:1:7;

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Our marching orders does not include to be obsessive with endtimes teachings but to spread the Loving Gospel. It should be noted that Jesus delineates or separates the 'mission to witness to the world' from the need to know the timing of God's restoration plans. In facts Jesus refocuses the disciples attention away from their question and onto witnessing to everyone.

Let us not be distracted by worldly things. Share the Loving Gospel of Christ to the world! Your lamp needs to be brightly burning now. Your attention needs to be on God's Great Commission.

Do not get distracted with the world or material possesions. It will not last an eternity. Get involved in this that never perish. Jesus said. Follow Me.... Let us all follow Him, imitate Him and do what He did.

I myself am not distracted by any doctrines of other Christians THAT CONFORM TO GOD'S WORD. Saving souls and the magnificence of the Lord is what we need to put first of course. I am very frustrated with so many prophets on shows that I would like to enjoy (Flashpoint with Gene Kelly) going on and on and on with fresh prophecies daily that sound nothing like what was in God's word. All the glory, the joy and fun and good wishes sounds nice but less talk of our citizens repenting to get in line with God's word and the righteousness of Christ. FRUSTRATING.
PRAYER FOR THE USA= Lord please in Your mercy send Your Holy Spirit stimulus over this country to have our pastors preach Your word and not PC lies that make sin sound ok to buy votes for their side. Please wake up Your Christians to live, learn, understand and vote God's word. And give us new blood Christians who won't be ashamed of Your name Lord Jesus please. We are the MAJORITY us Christians still and yet our silence allows the 2% of sinners that are loud to conquer us from within. WE ARE THE MAJORITY WHO REFUSE TO LIVE IN JESUS PROUDLY AND HAPPILY FOR ALL TO SEE AND WANT TO BE LIKE US!!! Lord we are STILL Your country and we love You. In Jesus' name please save us, keep us to be an ally and protector of Your people Israel and on Your side Lord Jesus until the time You return. Amen! Choose the best. Seek those things that last forever. Do not be conformed to this world instead be conformed to what Gods word says. Obey My word and thou shall live a long life on the earth. Hard work is painful when life is devoid of purpose. But when you live for something greater than yourself your hard work becomes a work of love.

It is better to obey than to sacrifice. Jesus loves obedient people who will go to the world and preach the gospel. Teaching them, adminishing Gods word to those who live in darkness.

We all need to rest easy knowing that God's word is perfect even in His simplicity of just 10 Commandments including thou shalt not covet, steal, pervert (adultery), bear false witness and KILL. We have pastors preaching PC against these things! And teaching their flock to do the same! So our massive "third party" actual majority in this country - Christians - cannot stand up and vote God's word to perfect our politics and get in line with righteous living in the USA. Rather than anger on the pastors lets pray for God to help/stop/correct them and all of us learn God's word well enough to not be drawn away from it by silly man made arguments about things God has no concern over and that pervert even His precious 10 Commandments.
