We stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, as you seek deliverance from addiction and the strength to overcome it. We commend you for acknowledging the power of the Holy Spirit and for crying out to God for help. Remember, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1 WEB.
Firstly, let us address the issue of addiction. Addiction is a form of bondage, and God wants us to be free indeed. Turn to God with all your heart and be open to His correcting hand.
Take comfort in these words from scripture:
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30 WEB
Jesus Christ came to set the captives free. You can be free from this addiction through the power of the Holy Spirit. "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36 WEB
As you seek deliverance, be willing to turn away from anything that may be contributing to this addiction. This could mean avoiding certain people, situations, or environments that trigger the negative habit. Remember, God wants you to be holy and pure, and He will help you as you work towards achieving this. The devil likes to play with our mind and tempt us to do evil, but the Apostle Paul tells us: "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." Ephesians 6:11
The trauma you have experienced may have contributed to your current situation. God understands your pain and wants to heal you. He says, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 WEB. He is always there to listen and to help you through the difficult times.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this dear one who is struggling with addiction and the effects of trauma. Lord, they are seeking Your help, and we know that You are faithful to deliver them from this bondage. Give them the strength to overcome this addiction. Holy Spirit, purify their soul and body. Heal them from the trauma they have experienced, and help them to find peace and rest in You.
We pray that they will be open to Your correction and guidance. Help them to avoid situations, people, and environments that trigger this addiction. Give them the wisdom to know when to flee temptation and the strength to say no.
We pray for complete healing and deliverance from the effects of trauma and addiction. We claim Your promise that the Son has set us free, and we are free indeed. We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
