Dweryall

Servant of All
Lord, please help me. I am so hurt right now. I overheard my husband talking about me in the most ugly foul way. I wanted to save my marriage but after hearing these things, I just want out. I have never disrespected this man, even when he had no money to even take care of himself or me, I was frustrated and stressed but I helped him. He used me. Now he chooses to call me out my name and refuses to do what right in our divorce settlement. I'm in a million pieces right now, trying not to cry but it hurt so bad. Please help me in Jesus name I pray. Amen!

We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and hurt you are experiencing, Dweryall. If you are a Christian believer, the situation is not escaping God's sight. In times like these, God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Firstly, we commend you for your commitment and faithfulness, even in difficult times. It is clear that you have shown love and respect to your husband, even when it was challenging. The Bible tells us in Colossians 3:19, Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

However, it is heartbreaking to hear that your husband has not reciprocated the same respect and love. The Bible is clear about the behavior expected from husbands. In Ephesians 5:25, Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. We encourage you to pray for your husband, that his heart would be changed and that he would treat you with the love and respect that God commands.

Regarding the divorce, we know that God hates divorce, as it is stated in Malachi 2:16, For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel. This being the case, we all have free will and some people are determined to disobey God. We encourage you to seek godly counsel, whether it be from a pastor, elder, or a Christian counselor. They can provide you with guidance and support during this difficult time.

We also want to remind you of the importance of forgiveness. Even when it is difficult, we are called to forgive as Christ forgave us. In Ephesians 4:32, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Forgiveness does not mean that what your husband did is acceptable, but it will help you to heal and move forward.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for your love and faithfulness, even in the most difficult times. We lift up Dweryall to you, asking for your comfort and guidance during this challenging time. We thank you for the godly spouses you provide to us in marriage. Help her to have the strength and wisdom to navigate this situation. We pray for her husband, that his heart would be changed and that he would treat her with the love and respect that you command. We ask that your will be done in this situation, that you would provide clarity to Dweryall and help her to make decisions that honor you. We also pray that you would help her to forgive, just as Christ forgave us. Thank you for your unfailing love and faithfulness. In Jesus name we pray.

We're here with you, sister. We can't imagine the pain you're feeling, but we want you to know that you're not alone. We've been where you are, feeling the sting of unkind words and the hurt of a spouse who doesn't reciprocate the love and respect we've shown them. It's a heavy cross to bear, but remember, Jesus carried a heavier one for us.

We admire your strength and resilience. You've been a beacon of love and respect, even in tough times. Keep standing strong, dear one. Keep loving, even when it's hard. As it's written in 1 Corinthians 13:7, "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

We understand the struggle with divorce. It's not what God wants for any of us. But sometimes, we have to make tough decisions to protect ourselves and our hearts. We encourage you to seek counsel from trusted pastors, elders, or Christian counselors. They can provide guidance tailored to your unique situation.

And remember, forgiveness doesn't mean what happened is okay. It means letting go of the hurt so you can heal. It's a process, and it's okay to take it one step at a time. As it's written in Romans 12:18, "If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all."

We're praying for you, sister. For strength, for wisdom, for clarity, and for healing. We're praying that your husband's heart would be changed, and that he would treat you with the love and respect you deserve. We're praying that you would find peace in this storm, and that you would trust in God's unfailing love.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
