Prayer for ###

Beloved of All
I have thoughts like cursing my dad for him telling me not to get married and trying to take advantage of me for his own good, not thinking of me and my well-being, only thinking of his own well-being. The thought of him being selfish gets me so mad. He has a shorter life ahead of me compared to mine, even then, him only thinking of his future well-being, not thinking of me being all alone, secluded, depressed, old, and weak, all by myself with no one to take care of me, look after me, gets me soooo mad. Furious anger comes on the inside of me. I already shared my feelings several times with him; he seems like he’s still thinking of himself. I feel like he’s a narcissist. Please help; I don’t know what to do with this. Please pray that I meet my spouse asap, so he stops taking advantage of me.

We understand that you're going through a difficult time with your father and harboring angry thoughts. First, we must address the spiritual aspect of your struggle. The Bible tells us, "Be angry, and don't sin. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath, neither give place to the devil." (Ephesians 4:26-27 WEB) It's important to deal with your anger before it leads you into sin.

We must also remember the commandment, "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you." (Exodus 20:12 WEB) Even when our parents make it difficult, we are called to honor them. This doesn't mean you should accept mistreatment, but rather approach the situation with love and respect, setting appropriate boundaries.

It's clear that you're hurting, and it's important to approach your father with open communication. Rather than accusing him and harboring anger, try to express your feelings calmly and respectfully. He may not be aware of the extent to which his actions are hurting you.

Regarding your desire for marriage, we pray that God will bring a godly spouse into your life according to His will and in His perfect timing. Remember, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB) As you seek a spouse, keep in mind that marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and it should be approached with prayer and discernment.

Let's pray together for these issues:

Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up this dear one who is struggling with anger and hurt. Please heal their heart and help them to forgive their father. Give them wisdom to approach this situation with love, respect, and healthy boundaries. We also pray for their father, that You would soften his heart and help him to see the error of his ways.

Lord, we ask that You would bring a godly spouse into their life, according to Your will and in Your perfect timing. Help them to be patient and to trust in Your plan for their life.

We pray we may speak boldly and make known the mystery of the gospel. And for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. (Ephesians 6:19-20 WEB)

Finally, we pray that they would find peace and comfort in You, knowing that You are always with them and You love them dearly. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

If you have not already, make sure you are reading the Bible regularly as it is the best way to know the heart of God and hear from Him.

We're here with you, feeling the weight of your frustration and hurt. It's tough when we feel unheard and unseen, especially by those who should care for us most. We understand the anger you're feeling, but remember, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger" (Proverbs 15:1 WEB). Let's try to approach this with a gentle heart, yet firm in our resolve to protect ourselves.

We've been praying for you, asking God to give you wisdom and courage to express your feelings to your dad. We're also asking God to open your dad's heart, to help him see the impact of his actions on you. We believe in the power of prayer, and we trust that God will work in both of your hearts.

In the meantime, let's focus on what we can control. Have you considered seeking counsel from a trusted pastor or a Christian therapist? They can provide guidance and a safe space for you to process these emotions. Also, remember to take care of yourself. Surround yourself with supportive friends, engage in activities that bring you joy, and keep your heart and mind in God's Word.

We're here for you, praying for you, and believing in the power of God to work in your situation. Trust in Him, and remember, "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken" (Psalm 55:22 NIV).

We continue to lift you up in prayer, dear brother or sister, thanking you for allowing us the honor of interceding on your behalf. We are truly grateful that you have invited us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. As we have been praying for you these past few days, we believe that God is at work in your situation. If you have seen any signs of your request being answered, we would be delighted for you to share a praise report with us all. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, we would like to encourage you to post it again as a new request. Allow us to continue with you in fervent prayer. This is also a great occasion to pause and express gratitude. Say 'Lord, even in this situation I am thankful that you promised to never leave me nor forsake me.' Isolation is not your portion. We are human. Therefore, it is natural to become angry and frustrated with others when they refuse to act in your best interests or to try to see things from your perspective. It is even typical of our human nature to desire to seek revenge.

Lastly, since you have turned to us for prayer we offer this biblical advice: 'Be ye angry, and sin not: Let not the sun go down on your wrath:' Apostle Paul wrote these words to the church at Ephesus. On the flip side, Jesus teaches that there is no room for any bitterness to linger in our hearts. We must disagree with others with treating them with sharp words. We want to offer this to you as a prayer to God:

"Heavenly Father, thank you that you forgive our sins which are beyond number; Lord, may we forgive others with the same sincerity. We know that this is hard. Please fill us with your strength. With your almighty grace may we extend forgiveness even when others do not ask for it. When we are at odds with our earthly fathers, remind us to honor and obey You as we are taught in the Lord's Prayer. As we are called to honor our earthly father as well as our Heavenly Father, shield us from bitterness and to walk in peace, knowing that your ways are higher than our ways. We ask these things through your Son, Jesus Christ."
