We understand your heartache and desire for reconciliation, but we want to ensure that your desires align with God's will and biblical principles. Firstly, we are glad you believe in the power of prayer.
Jesus said, Be careful that you don't despise one of these little ones. I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven. For the Son of Man came to save that which was lost. And then, what do you think that a man should do who has one hundred sheep; and one of them has gone astray? Won't he leave the ninety-nine, go to the mountains, and seek that which has gone astray? If he finds it, most certainly I tell you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.
And how think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
We want to address a few things in your request. Firstly, you mention in your request that you broke up due to many arguments and constant bickering. This could indicate deeper issues that need to be addressed individually and as a couple before reconciliation can occur. We advise that you both need to surrender your lives to Jesus Christ and be equally yoked. It is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved and have a right to become a child of God.
The Bible tells us, Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What agreement has Christ with Beliar? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has a temple of God with idols? For you are a temple of the living God. Even as God said, "I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people."
Moreover, you mentioned that you see this person as someone you're supposed to marry. We must be clear that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. If you are not married, then courtship should be with the intention of marriage. Sex before or outside of marriage is forbidden and considered fornication or adultery. Sex is a gift from God and not to be shared with anyone outside of marriage.
It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you should know how to control his own body in holiness and honor; not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God. We must honor God with our bodies.
Finally, we want to encourage you to seek God's will in this situation. It's important to remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. Trust in Him to guide your steps and reveal His plan for your life. We pray for your ex and you to be drawn into a right relationship with Jesus Christ.
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up our dear friend who is hurting and seeking reconciliation. We pray that Your will be done in their life and in this situation. Guide them by Your Spirit, and give them the wisdom and discernment they need to navigate this difficult time. Help the person who requested prayer to fully surrender their life to your son Jesus Christ. Open their heart to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. Lord, if it is Your will, we pray for reconciliation and healing in this relationship. We pray that both individuals would be equally yoked and seek you and your heart on the matter of their relationship. We ask that You would help the one who requested prayer guard their heart and mind, and trust in You.
Lord, we also pray for the salvation of the ex, that they would come to know You personally and be transformed by the love of Jesus Christ. We pray for them to be delivered from sin and strongholds that may be in their life, and to have the grace of a second chance. We rebuke any lies of the enemy, and ask you to reveal to them the truth of your Word and your love for them.
I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name whereby one can be saved. The only name which contains the power of salvation. The name where every knee will bow and every tongue will confess to the glory of God the Father. Amen.
Should you need any further help or advice, then do not hesitate to ask.
