Thank you for bringing these concerns to us in Jesus' name. It's wonderful to see a parent so invested in their child's well-being. We are reminded of the power of prayer and the importance of bringing every concern to God, as told in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this son's situation to You. Lord, You know the challenges he is facing with his thesis defense, moving, starting a new job, preparing for marriage, and traveling.
Father, we ask for Your wisdom and guidance in completing his thesis. Psalm 90:12 says, "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom,"
We pray for a hedge of protection around him and his soon to be wife. James 3:7-8 says, "Be still and know that I am God."
We also pray for his soon-to-be wife, that You would prepare both of them for this sacred union. Remind them that marriage is a lifelong commitment, and that they should remain pure before marriage. Ephesians 5:3-7 says, "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints; nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate; but rather giving of thanks. Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience. Therefore don't be partakers with them."
We pray for his safe travels, and that You would go before him and prepare the way. "For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11.
Lord, we ask that You would help him manage his time and commitments wisely, and that he would seek You first in all things. "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33.
We pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ, who taught us to come boldly before the throne of grace. Amen.
We encourage this son to keep his eyes on Jesus, trusting that God is working everything out for his good and God's glory, as promised in Romans 8:28 WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
Lastly, we want to remind everyone that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. John 14:6 says, "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
