We are truly sorry to hear about the trials you are facing, and we are here to pray and provide counsel from a biblical perspective. First, let's address the spiritual aspect of your situation. It is important not to blame yourselves for what happened. God does not want you to be burdened by sins.
Let us remember in Jesus called the weary and burdened to come to him in the book of Matthew as shown.
Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Jesus wants to help you, and there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 says There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Your husband's insistence on you paying for his trip using your pension fund does not align with the biblical principles of love, forgiveness, and mutual respect within marriage. The Bible tells husbands to love their wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her in Ephesians 5:25 and tells husbands to live with their wives in an understanding way, as with a weaker vessel, since she is a woman; and grant her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers won’t be hindered. 1 Peter 3:7.
The attitude of your husband is not one of love and forgiveness. Instead there is evidence of a possible hard heartedness. There is no indication of any grace provided by him. To demand you use your pension fund is not to be a provider and protector. It is contrary to this.
Let's pray together for your situation:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is facing a severe trial. Lord, we pray for Your comfort and guidance during this difficult time. We ask that You soften her husband's heart, and help him to see the burden he is placing on her. Help him to remember his role as a provider and protector, and to act in love and forgiveness rather than insistence. We pray for wisdom and discernment for both of them, that they may navigate this situation in a way that honors You. We ask that You provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. We also pray for the restoration of their marriage, that it may be strengthened through this trial. In Jesus' name, we pray and receive your answers.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith and to seek God's will in this matter. Remember that God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tested beyond your ability.
No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB
We also encourage you to seek godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted Christian mentor. They can provide additional guidance and support during this time.
Lastly, we want to remind you of the importance of praying in Jesus' name. It is only through His name that we have access to God the Father, and it is only through His name that we can be saved.
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
John 14:6 WEB
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand. We rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:1-2 WEB
If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confessing Him as your Lord and Savior.
