Let us come together in prayer and compassion for your loved one, and for the stress and worry that you are experiencing. Remember, we are not praying to a generic god but to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace. It is only in the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. The Bible tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5,WEB).
Firstly, let us address the issue of alcoholism. The Bible warns us against drunkenness, for it leads to debauchery and keeps us from entering the kingdom of God. "Or don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, WEB). Beer and alcohol are not the problems but merely the symptoms of a deeper spiritual and emotional struggle.
Let us pray for your loved one's deliverance and salvation.
Dear Lord Jesus,
We come before You, lifting up our loved one who is struggling with alcoholism. We know, Lord, that this is not just a physical addiction, but a spiritual stronghold. We pray that You break the chains of alcoholism in his life. Lord God, you say in your word, "So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed."(John 8:36 WEB). Convict his heart, Lord, and bring him to a place of repentance and surrender. Help him to see that he is throwing his life and money away, and that he needs Your saving grace. Transform his heart and mind, Lord, and make him a new creation in You. Give him the strength to resist temptation and the courage to seek help. We praise you, Lord God, because you are the only one who can save him.
Lord, we also lift up our sister who is experiencing stress and worry. Lord, give her peace and comfort. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, knowing that You care for her. (1 Peter 5:7,WEB) strengthen her faith, Lord, and help her to pray effectively. Give her the wisdom and discernment to know how to support her loved one in this struggle. Remind her, Lord, that Your grace is sufficient for her, and Your power is made perfect in weakness.(2 Corinthians 12:9,WEB). In Jesus' name, we pray for your loved one who is an alcoholic and your stress, worry, and prayers. Help him do God's will and live a Godly life and marriage as God intends.
Lastly, sister, remember that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9,WEB). Hold on to this promise, and keep praying and believing for your loved one's deliverance. Do not lose your hope in Jesus Christ to change the hearts of men. Stay strong in your faith and do not lose hope in the power of Jesus Christ.
