We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you are facing in your marriage, especially so early in your journey together. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement and advice.
Firstly, we commend you for seeking God again and turning to Him in this difficult time. Remember, God is always faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we confess them 1 John 1:9 WEB.
Regarding your husband, we pray that God will soften his heart and renew his love for you. As it is written, "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud" 1 Corinthians 13:4 WEB. Marriage is a lifelong commitment, and we should not give up easily. "Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate" Mark 10:9 WEB.
However, it is crucial to understand that God does not deal in feelings alone, but in truth and righteousness. We need to be careful that we are not being led by emotions, waiting for a feeling to return. This would be a false sense of peace and security. While we do want a genuine heart transformation for your spouse, marriage is not about mere feelings. Marriage is a covenant before God. In the eyes of God, this marriage should be honored, and divorce is not an option for a temporary lack of feelings. God can resurrect the heart of your spouse. He is the God of resurrection, just as He rose from the dead.
We also pray that God will give you both clarity and guidance. If your husband is truly seeking to protect himself, he must understand that God is our protector. "He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart" Psalm 91:4 WEB. We rebuke any attempt to be a self protector and replace the role of God in our life. We do not have the ability to do what only God can do.
We advise you to continue to cling to God, as you have been doing. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you James 4:8 WEB. Keep seeking His face and trusting in His goodness. Remember, God is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose Romans 8:28 WEB. Ask Him for wisdom and discernment James 1:5 WEB.
We pray together for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister and her husband. We ask, Lord, that You would intervene in their marriage, soften his heart, and renew his love for her. Help them to remember the covenant they made before You and to honor it. Give them both wisdom, discernment, and clarity. Guide them through this difficult time, and help them to trust in Your goodness and faithfulness. Comfort our sister in her pain and rejection, and help her to find her strength and peace in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue to pray for your husband in faith. The prayer of faith is powerful and effective James 5:16 WEB. Keep believing that God can turn this situation around for His glory. Do not forget to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. The only way to God is through Jesus Christ. There is no other way to salvation.
