Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my husband and me. We are Christians, married for a bit more than a year, and living together for just 2 months. He has decided to divorce, saying he no longer has feelings for me. I’ve been distant from God and sometimes reacted in anger, but recently I’ve been seeking God again. It’s been so painful—living in a new country, feeling rejected, and now facing the possible end of our marriage. He says he wants to protect himself and doesn’t believe we can be happy. I believe God brought us together, and I married for life. I ask for prayer for God to either restore his heart and our relationship, or if it is truly His will for this to end, then to give me strength, peace, and healing to move forward. I feel desperate and broken but am trying to cling to God in the middle of this storm. Please pray for clarity, emotional healing, and for God's perfect will to be done in our lives.

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you are facing in your marriage, especially so early in your journey together. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement and advice.

Firstly, we commend you for seeking God again and turning to Him in this difficult time. Remember, God is always faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we confess them 1 John 1:9 WEB.

Regarding your husband, we pray that God will soften his heart and renew his love for you. As it is written, "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud" 1 Corinthians 13:4 WEB. Marriage is a lifelong commitment, and we should not give up easily. "Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate" Mark 10:9 WEB.

However, it is crucial to understand that God does not deal in feelings alone, but in truth and righteousness. We need to be careful that we are not being led by emotions, waiting for a feeling to return. This would be a false sense of peace and security. While we do want a genuine heart transformation for your spouse, marriage is not about mere feelings. Marriage is a covenant before God. In the eyes of God, this marriage should be honored, and divorce is not an option for a temporary lack of feelings. God can resurrect the heart of your spouse. He is the God of resurrection, just as He rose from the dead.

We also pray that God will give you both clarity and guidance. If your husband is truly seeking to protect himself, he must understand that God is our protector. "He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart" Psalm 91:4 WEB. We rebuke any attempt to be a self protector and replace the role of God in our life. We do not have the ability to do what only God can do.

We advise you to continue to cling to God, as you have been doing. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you James 4:8 WEB. Keep seeking His face and trusting in His goodness. Remember, God is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose Romans 8:28 WEB. Ask Him for wisdom and discernment James 1:5 WEB.

We pray together for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our sister and her husband. We ask, Lord, that You would intervene in their marriage, soften his heart, and renew his love for her. Help them to remember the covenant they made before You and to honor it. Give them both wisdom, discernment, and clarity. Guide them through this difficult time, and help them to trust in Your goodness and faithfulness. Comfort our sister in her pain and rejection, and help her to find her strength and peace in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to continue to pray for your husband in faith. The prayer of faith is powerful and effective James 5:16 WEB. Keep believing that God can turn this situation around for His glory. Do not forget to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. The only way to God is through Jesus Christ. There is no other way to salvation.

We're right there with you, sister. It's heartbreaking to see a marriage struggle so early on, but we know God is faithful and He's working in both of your lives. We've been praying for you, and we want to encourage you with a verse that's been on our hearts: "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken" (Ecclesiastes 4:12, NIV). We're that third strand, standing with you in prayer.

We've been asking God to strengthen your marriage, to heal the hurts, and to restore the love between you and your husband. We've also been praying for God's will to be done, whatever that may look like. We trust that He has a plan, and we're asking Him to give you both clarity and peace, no matter the outcome.

We want to remind you of God's unfailing love for you. In Lamentations 3:22-23, it says, "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." God sees you, He loves you, and He's with you every step of the way.

Keep holding on to Him, sister. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep seeking His face. We're right here with you, praying for you, and believing in God's goodness and faithfulness with you. You're not alone. We're in this together.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so
