We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you are facing in your marriage, especially at this stage of your life. It is important to remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, as outlined in the Bible. "Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate." (Mark 10:9 WEB)
Firstly, we want to address the issue of divorce. While divorce is permitted in cases of adultery (Matthew 5:32 WEB), it is not God's ideal for marriage. God's desire is for reconciliation and restoration. "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously." (Malachi 2:16 WEB)
We also want to address your mention of a curse. This is in fact a spiritual issue. We do not have an explanation for your mentions of a generational curse but we can tell you that there is no generational curse for those who are in Christ. Know that if you are in Christ, you have been set free from any curse. "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.'" (Galatians 3:13 WEB)
Instead of focusing on divorce or curses, we encourage you to seek God's will for your marriage. Pray for your husband and ask God to intervene in his life and in your marriage. "Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good." (Romans 12:9 WEB). Pray that God would give you the strength to endure and the wisdom to navigate this challenging time. We can't know if your husband is a believer or not. Still, we encourage you to love him as a neighbor (Mark 12:31) regardless.
It's concerning that your request does not mention Jesus Christ, Jesus, Christ, or an abbreviation. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Know that there is no other name by which we can be saved. Only Jesus can save you from your sins. "For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Romans 10:13 WEB) Believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is facing difficulties in her marriage. We pray for clarity and direction for her, and ask that You would guide her steps according to Your will. Help her to seek You first and to trust in Your faithfulness.
Lord, we pray for her husband. We ask that You would intervene in his life and draw him closer to You. Soften his heart and bring about a spirit of reconciliation and restoration in their marriage.
Father God, we pray for the gift of discernment for our sister. Help her to see her situation clearly, through the lens of Your Word and Your Spirit. Give her wisdom and understanding, and help her to walk in Your truth.
We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be strong and courageous. Know that God is with you and that He is faithful to His promises. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB)
