Matthew 25:46,"and these will go to eternal torment"Now let's make sure we understand each others meaning. You just mentioned something .You stated, "just because they are tormented". But by admitting that they are tormented, goes to my point about, they have some kind of consciousness.I thought you were preaching what some preach as God just "wipes them out"and they don't exist anymore. But if you admit they DO feel the torment, you're not stating that. And me, notice I did state that, it might not be "alive" in the stirct sense of the word, but some state of consciousness.{What I meant was, they have enough consciousness to feel the torment.}{not completely obliterated}That I was disagreeing with the ones who preach, they will be "wiped out", and not feel the torment
All I am saying is that God does not use the term eternal life for those in Hell. I just don't see any sense in adding or taking away from the Words Written in the Bible. It only adds our thoughts to God's Word to say any more than what God States and then we lose God's meaning and we gain trouble for ourselves. I don't have any desire to have any plagues looking for me and I don't think you do either :)

The main reason we suffer is a lack of knowledge. Why would we want to not know something only because we added our ignorant thoughts to God's Perfect Wisdom? Telling others they will have everlasting life in Hell if they don't believe in Jesus doesn't make Hell sound that bad or even that believable a place. There is nothing to do in Hell but thirst as Hell's thirst is never quenched. The rich man only asked for a drop of water for himself, didn't he? While Hell would be a horrible place, if we are true Christians we don't really need to think on it pass what is written about it to know that it is real :)

I didn't say I know the description of the torment. I meant they have some form of consciousness.and I thought you meant the other extreme, they they're aware of nothing. So I meant that the Bible states they have some awareness of it.

I really don't know the extent of the awareness of someone in Hell and neither do you. All we can know for sure is what God says about it. What God States is all we can depend on. Guessing and throwing in our thoughts and adding to His Word is pointless, don't you think?

It's not my own thoughts when I quote from the Bible,"they were tormented day and night".The Bible just states that they ARE tormented,so I would know they have awareness to whatever extent the Bible means by it. I was mainly taking a poke at the ones who preach to the other extreme, they will be "extinguished" altogether, and somehow I thought that's what you meant.I didn't say I know the extent of the awareness, just that in order to feel torment, they're SOMEHOW conscious of SOMETHING.

I have no other information from God's Word about the consciousness of someone in Hell from the Bible. We only know what is written, don't we? Why add to God's Word? What is the point in thinking about someone that winds up in Hell? Are you concerned that you might wind up there? If you aren't then what is the point in your thinking about it?

Now I know for certain that you're mixed up. Read my post from the beginning. Was that the original subject?I started with annoying people seem to live longer than non annoying people. But we always get into these "side issues".I don't obsess about what someones experience in hell is,or fear that I might go there.I started with the other subject, annoying people, and at that time the consciousness of people in hell was not my focus. But remember, it takes 2 to tango, and you were doing a good job of going on and on yourself, so I was giving my replies. If one of us would stop, the other would. If you would have dropped the subject, I would have "moved on."If you think it's not right for me to think about it, do you realize by you keeping the debate going, it keeps my mind on it?If you really thought I was wrong about that, instead of keeping me on that subject, then you should have prayed for me. about that.

You make me laugh sometimes. I pray for you every day. You originally stated that some people that torment don't seem to die. I stated everyone dies or goes on to be with Jesus. Did you re read anything else I stated at first? I really don't care if you agree with me as I honestly have nothing to say that I didn't read in the Bible. You can think whatever you want about me, I am judged saved by the one that made me. My defender is Jesus. I have no argument with you :)

I don't know if you realize this or not but you are usually the one that goes off of your own subject and I honestly don't ever think we are in any sort of argument until you say something.

I love you my friend :)

I need wisdom with something.I see something happening too many times for me to think it's "coincidence."Thre's a "time to die" for all of us, but I notice that the ones who are "mellow", the ones who are "goodhearted",who don't do anything to us, when they get old, and are admitted to the hospital, the doctors tell you that there's nothing they can do for them, but "comfort measures"{hospice}.And they die.But when an annoying or troublesome person gets sick goes in the hospital, no matter how serious it looks,{or how old they are} they treat them and they come out.{no matter how many times this happens.}So I need wisdom to see, is there a connection between being annoying and being practically immortal?Too many times to be "coincidence."
praying for this

Understanding is difficult and trying to make sense of unfairness brings only bitterness.
Always ask God to intervene, Devil is a liar and will use any situation to make us believe we're alone.
