Your confession is heart wrenching yet I am certain that it unburdened your soul and your soul is what we must focus on...unburdened soul, unburdened body...good news is that your aspirations have not been dampened...best news is that you will eventually kick your addiction and your reachable goals will be attained...Christ took 12 ordinary men and in three years he turned them into apostles ...there was no plan B ...amongst those 12 were 2 ...John and James, brothers .Christ called them Sons of Thunder.Mark 3:17. Not because they were mighty like thunder but because they were reckless like thunder...guess what? Christ succeeded in making them UNreckless......can he do that for you? Can He take away your addiction so that you can be an example for your niece? I believe He will. I believe He will dispatch an angel to help you find work and do that work well...Believe in Him and in yourself...Are your knees too sore to kneel? You will find God and yourself through the holes in the fabric of your kneepads when you have prayed enough with a contrite heart...I need physical healing and financial help. I have been using methadone for 10 years and I tried to quit using it a couple of months ago, but I failed and spent my savings in the process (about $3K ) I am collecting unemployment, but the state cut my pay in half when I received my extension. So it looks like I'm going to have go back to work. I have no family members that can help. Fortunately, I have electrical & control wiring skills, and there is work for me. But I have physical limitations, mostly knee problems (I lost weight and that helps, but I find it difficult to walk even 1 or 2 blocks; Plus I'm 62) The sad thing is that $3000 I lost was going to be used to buy a car & move to a cheaper apartment, where I would be closer to my niece. But what I really want is a couple of acres of land for a small homestead where I will build a small cabin for retirement. But the methadone has kept me in this work-rent-debt-slave cycle for 10 years. I end up increasing the medication so I can keep up with my work.
