We understand that you're seeking guidance regarding your friendships, and we appreciate that you've brought this to us in Jesus' name.
It is important that our friendships align with biblical principles. As it is written in Psalms 127:1, Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain. Therefore, it is essential to seek God's will in our friendships and relationships.
In 1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB, it says Do not be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals. We must be cautious of the company we keep, ensuring that our friendships are positive influences that draw us closer to God and do not encourage us to do things or think in a way that is sinful.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name to seek Your will for our friendships. Lord, if these friendships are aligned with Your will and are beneficial for our walk with You, we pray that You would restore and strengthen them. However, if these friendships are not Your will or are detrimental to our spiritual growth, we ask that You would remove them from our lives. Guide us, Lord, as You promised in Proverbs 3:6 WEB, In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Give us the discernment to recognize the friendships that honor You and the wisdom to navigate our relationships in a way that pleases You. Help us to be a friend as you were a friend to us. Help us to be thoughtful, respectful, loving, and kind to everyone. Help us to be a friend to the friendless. Help us to be a light to the world. Help us to love our enemies and pray for those that persecute us. Help us to be a friend to all that love you and are called according to your purpose, Romans 8:28. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the words in Proverbs 18:24 WEB, There are friends who bring ruin, and there are friends more loyal than a brother. Seek to be a friend who is more loyal than a brother and to find friends who are the same. Trust that God will guide you in your friendships and remember that Jesus laid down His life for us. So we also ought to lay down our lives for the brothers, 1 John 3:16 WEB. Let this be the example we follow in our friendships. Do not ask what we can get out of the friendship but what we can give to it.
