We are grateful for your heartfelt request and your desire to return to your first love for God. It is beautiful to see your longing to rekindle the passion and intimacy you once had with our Heavenly Father. In Revelation 2:4, Jesus tells the church in Ephesus, I know your works, and your toil and patience, and that you cannot tolerate evil. You have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and you have found them false. But I have this against you, that you left your first love.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who longs to return to their first love for You. Father, we ask that You reveal Yourself to them in a new and powerful way, touching their heart and captivating them again with Your love.
Lord, forgive them for the times when they have allowed other things to take Your place in their heart. Renew their passion for You and draw them close, that they may walk in intimate fellowship with You once again.
Father, we ask that You fill them with a fresh hunger and thirst for Your presence. Help them to set their mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God's Word, seeking Him with all your heart. Remember, Jesus said, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and, your neighbor as yourself.
