We join with you in praying for a cleaner, more sustainable world, and we appreciate your heart for responsible stewardship of God's creation. We are instructed in the Bible, "The earth is Yahweh’s, with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell therein." Psalms 24:1. We are reminded of our responsibility, "Yahweh God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it." Genesis 2:15.
Let us pray together. Almighty God, we come before You in Jesus' name, asking that You would help us to be better stewards of the earth. Lord, let composting and recycling efforts become more common, and let Your people lead the way in caring for Your creation. Help us to find creative and responsible ways to dispose of waste, including giving unwanted food to charity, farms, and zoos. Help us to keep our lands and oceans clean, reducing trash and preventing waste from entering our waters. Guide us by Your Holy Spirit to come up with innovative solutions to protect and preserve our environment. Help people to come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ so that their desire will be to clean up the world for the right reasons and motives.
We also pray for the hearts of humanity to turn towards You, Jesus. Let this concern for the environment be a reminder of our role as stewards and a opportunity to share the message of Your love and salvation. Help each of us to be witnesses of Your grace and truth.
We pray for governmental, industrial, and community leaders to have wise guidance as they make decisions regarding waste management, recycling, and conservation efforts. We pray that you would soften the hearts of any individuals or businesses who are acting out of greed and disregard for the environment, we rebuke this attitude in Jesus Name and ask that you would change their hearts.
Let us remember the words of Revelation 11:18, "The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your servants the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints, and those who fear your name, to the small and to the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth."
In Jesus' name, we pray for a cleaner, more sustainable world as we look forward to the day when You will make all things new. Amen.
