How many times have you seen something horrendous on television that made you immediately change the station? Sometimes you need to go through so many channels, before you can find the right station that will allow you to forget the troubling image you just seen. There's a strong psychological lesson to be learn here.
In life we have two proverbial networks at our disposal; the network of fear and the network of faith.

Mark 4:40
And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

In Mark, we clearly see the diametric relationship between fear and faith. One reigns while the other is trampled on. Both fear and faith carries many traits but for today I will just speak of bitterness and gratitude.

Hebrews 12:15
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
Ephesians 5:20
Giving thanks always
for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Bitterness and Gratitude
Bitterness is define in the web as "a feeling of antagonism, hostility, or resentfulness."
Gratitude is define in the web as "the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness."

When one is completely immersed by bitterness, one is unable or has trouble in rising above their proverbial dark cloud to see the Son-light. Similarly, when one is living in gratitude, one dwells in thankfulness. They don't dwell on the negativities. Emphasis on dwell, as in resides or stays in bitterness.

We should place a valiant effort in 'changing the bitterness channel' whenever we hold resentfulness. There's more and more things for us to be thankful about. Write them down if you have to and thank our Lord for them. Yes it may not be easy at first, but I'm personally discovering that the channels from the so-called Fear Network are fewer and fewer.

Change your channel. Don't subscribe to the bitterness channel.

Thank You Father! Thank you friends for reading.

I still say, not being a masochist, my emotions go by the circumstances. If I were claiming happiness in bad circumstances, I would be lying,. I'm happy when things go my way, not work against me. Again, not a masochist.My emotions mirror the circumstances.
Circumstances can be difficult. My point is simply not to be paralyzed by bitterness. Don't let bitterness rob your entire life. We face disappointing set back but we move on. One thing I have noticed is when someone is bitter 24/7, then their relationship with Jesus becomes bruised.

I think the amount of times you "get screwed" is a factor. 2 or 3 times, but if it's a whole pattern throughout your life, we all have our limits and breaking points.Does God realize we're not masochists?

Yes He does and our permanent victory is coming.
That's something to "look forward to,"However, it doesn't do much to help me in the present,as remember you also stated several times it could be years and years in the future, . The hard times are now, and you also stated you have to live in the here and now.My "here and now" is not so great, while I wait an infinitesmal amount of time for my deliverance.

You dare compare me to Nudias? I’m sorry but the audacity you have to do that. I’m not in a cult. I’m not a Jehovah Witness. He left because he was probably embrassed that you exposed Jehovah‘s Witness. I give you one point for that. If you want to dehumanise me as a human being, a fellow worker in Christ, you have no place in my life.
Interesting angle.You seem to be aware that my comparison was a bit too much while it was you who initiated the comment:
'You are exactly like Nudias. I won’t be surprised if you two are the same person"
Remember, on two occasions.' Do what I tell you - not as as I do' comes to mind.' Nudias was crafty and would have resorted in changing his profile name to insult me.
It was you who was excessively generous with your comparison - not to mentioned you never focused on the topic at hand which was bitterness. You engaged in a whirlwind of disrespect by assaulting my character. You did start with hostility and concluded with bitterness. Everyone who reads this blog will see that it was you that came out of no where to unleash your non topical comments and insults. We have one member who respectfully address his counter views in this blog. We are still exchanging opinions in a kindhearted manner. But you chose neither. You were disrespectful and off topic. Maybe your intention was to demonstrate an object lesson on bitterness or resentment. You have two choices, stay on topic or ignore me. I won't allow myself to be bitter by your decision.

Christians must forgive. I choose to forgive you as I forgave Nudias. Maybe you will forgive us both. After all, you are to forgive your enemies.
Please move on.

Tv is a tool of satan for us to make us sin and stay away from Gods word and prayer. Pornography, palm reading, divorce, violence towards children and women, sin of all kinds comes along with those programs that make women get abortion and stay away from Gods word. All bitterness in your life comes because you have been involved in watching television and those evil channels that make you think on how deep in sin you can get and then unable to get out from that. Fast and pray daily before the Lord to be delivered from such an awful sin against the Lord. Not attending church at all, watching tv all the time and not praying for lost souls. Be grateful Jesus is giving you time to repent and come to the Lord and obey His voice. Go and sin no more.

Wow! You are emphasizing the bad nature of TV content. I wasn't talking about a real channel or even TV.
You stated...

Are you referring to me? I don't watch television.
My blog was a metaphor for being in a perpetual state of bitterness. I was expressing the need for people to change their hearts. Shake the bitterness away by changing the proverbial channel with a new outlook - gratitude. This has nothing to do with TV. Again, I personally don't watch TV.
The bible is filled with imagery and metaphors. Hebrews states that the old is a shadow of a better and new covenant to come. Jesus use imagery.
Interesting.

The channels I spoke of, deal with bitterness and the other is gratitude.
