How many times have you seen something horrendous on television that made you immediately change the station? Sometimes you need to go through so many channels, before you can find the right station that will allow you to forget the troubling image you just seen. There's a strong psychological lesson to be learn here.
In life we have two proverbial networks at our disposal; the network of fear and the network of faith.

Mark 4:40
And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

In Mark, we clearly see the diametric relationship between fear and faith. One reigns while the other is trampled on. Both fear and faith carries many traits but for today I will just speak of bitterness and gratitude.

Hebrews 12:15
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
Ephesians 5:20
Giving thanks always
for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Bitterness and Gratitude
Bitterness is define in the web as "a feeling of antagonism, hostility, or resentfulness."
Gratitude is define in the web as "the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness."

When one is completely immersed by bitterness, one is unable or has trouble in rising above their proverbial dark cloud to see the Son-light. Similarly, when one is living in gratitude, one dwells in thankfulness. They don't dwell on the negativities. Emphasis on dwell, as in resides or stays in bitterness.

We should place a valiant effort in 'changing the bitterness channel' whenever we hold resentfulness. There's more and more things for us to be thankful about. Write them down if you have to and thank our Lord for them. Yes it may not be easy at first, but I'm personally discovering that the channels from the so-called Fear Network are fewer and fewer.

Change your channel. Don't subscribe to the bitterness channel.

Thank You Father! Thank you friends for reading.

On the other hand, I;m not a masochist, so I don't feel in a celebratory mood when things consistently go wrong,...especialy over a long period of time...
This blog is about people not to dwell on or to stay stuck on bitterness. I don't want to speak for you Brother but I don't think that you are saying that we should live in bitterness. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Dear Brother in Christ. We must choose what is right for our spiritual situation. We need to be fed be Gods word. Jesus clearly said. In Me... ye shall find peace. Now, if we choose to change our channel to a bitter, violent, full of sin and evil before the Lord, then nightmares, depression, stress and worry will fill our heart and our mind will become restless. There is one single channel we should choose on earth. That is a heavenly channel that will lead us all to heaven. The devil will offer us all kinds of stations that will lead us to hells burning fire. Do not let him do this to you. Just walk with the Lord, seek His guidance and mercy and He will deliver anyone of us from the grasp of satan.

Also I see it as the person telling me to be happy about it is minimizing my problems.We all have different tolerance levels.
Do not minimize your problems, you may have millions of problems in life, give it all to Jesus and he will take it away from you. Do not tolerate sin or evil in your life. Do not watch porn or violent programs on the internet or on tv. That for sure will lead anyone of us to hells burning fire and our life will be full of depression and sickness.

When did I say it was going to be easy? I suffer physically, mentally, and spiritually. But I get back up and shake the dust from me. I think of the story of Job and of these verses:

Acts 14:22
Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulations enter into the kingdom of God.

John 16:33T
I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Tribulation is not easy but bitterness can be more destructive to our souls then tribulation itself.

I dont think he meant the literal channel.

There are all kinds of channels in our present life, at work we see a different channel, on the road there is another one, full of drunk drivers and at night when we come home from work we see lots of channels that will lead us all to a different direction. Divorce, drunkeness, adultery, infidelity and so on and on. I was on a bus and I saw those huge moutains in Colorado, I said, I am so small and tiny seeing those huge rocks that were placed around us. Jesus, the rock of all ages will see us, a tiny lost ant seeing the Rock of Ages and He cares for us and love us. He does not want us to change His channel for other evil channels where we will find unrest, and unhappiness. Let us all follow Jesus all the way to heaven. Let us all see a wonderful, beautiful channel full of angels of heaven singing this beautiful song of praise to Jesus. O the glory of Your presence. We Your temple give You reverence.... Yes, let us all give reverence to Jesus and He will fill our heart with peace, joy and happiness in this life and then in the next one. In heaven above.
