We are with you in spirit, lifting up your beloved dad and others in prayer. The Bible tells us to honor our fathers and mothers, and The World English Bible tells us:
Leviticus 19:32 You shall rise up before the gray headed, and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God. I am Yahweh.
1 Timothy 5:1-4 Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers; the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity. Honor widows who are widows indeed. But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety towards their own family, and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
Together, let us pray:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up the father and loved ones of Your child. We ask that You keep, help, and bless them in their old age. Provide for their needs, Lord, and give them strength. Guide them to know You more, and if it is Your will, grant them a refreshing holiday in the future.
Most importantly, Father, we pray that You draw them to Yourself, that they may accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, if they have not done so already.
Please note that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it says in the Bible:
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Acts 4:11-12 This is the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
Therefore, we ask these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be encouraged, knowing that God hears our prayers and cares for your dad and loved ones. Continue to trust in Him, and remember the words of Romans 8:28:
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
