Understanding what comes first; wants or righteousness?

Matthews 6:33 (examining 3 versions)

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. New International Versionp

Instead, make your top priority God’s kingdom and his way of life, and all these things will be given to you as well. New Testament for Everyone

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. New Living Translation

* Seek God first over everything.
* Live through His righteousness,
* Then and only then,
* The Father will give you what you need.

God knows what you need but it may be not necessarily what you wanted. God is your Anchor, your thoughts and your actions. The old gives way to the new. If you change your heart, you will change your world, and often enough you will abandon many of your old wants.

With Christ at your center, you pray for your needs.

During a teaching session of Jesus the people were anxiously awaiting the announcement of an earthly kingdom. But Jesus explained to them that the earthly things should not be their first priority. He impressed upon them that making material things their supreme priority would make them more like the heathen people about them.
Jesus reminded them that God was always aware and concerned about their needs even before they ask about them.
He instructed His followers to make the Kingdom of righteousness their priority. They should practice peace and love and make God's service their highest interest.
Yes, it is a spiritual kingdom but if they serve the Lord sincerely..He has power in Heaven and on Earth and will provide for their physical needs. Jesus does not release us from the necessity of efforts but He assures us that all things needed in this life will be added if it pleases Him.
So, what have I to dread? What have I to fear when I am leaning on the everlasting arms?
Well said!

They're not always mutually exclusive. You can want justice and fairness according to God's plans. "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled"

The verse you are highlighting proves my point. (If I'm understanding you right) God first through seeking His righteousness and they will be filled. I'm relatively sure the verse wasn't talking about our bank accounts being filled. I was emphasizing about seeking God first rather than selfish desires... like extravagant wealth.
People want so many things but still hate others. That is not of God.
