We understand your urgency and desire for God's intervention in your marriage. It's beautiful to see your faith in the power of Jesus Christ to transform lives and relationships. Let's come together in prayer and biblical guidance for your situation.
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power of Jesus Christ in your prayer. It is only by His Name that we can be saved. As the Bible tells us, "And in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister and her husband. Lord, we ask that You work in his life and make him a born-again Christian, drawn to You and transformed by Your Holy Spirit. We pray that You bless every aspect of their marriage, protecting it from all harm and bringing total unity and agreement between them.
Father, we ask that You deepen their love, desire, and attraction for each other, making their marriage stronger and more passionate each day. Help them to flourish in every way, united in Your love and guided by Your wisdom.
Lord, we also pray for our sister, that You bless every single part of her, helping her to grow in godliness and virtue. Guide her as she supports and loves her husband, being the helper that You design to assist her husband in being the spiritual leader of the home. Help her to submit to his leadership as the church submits to Christ.
Please forgive any past or present sin in their relationship that may affect their marriage. We pray all of this in the powerful Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Now let's address your relationship with important biblical principles.
First, remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, reflecting the union of Christ and His church. As the Bible says in Ephesians 5:31-33 WEB, "For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. Then the two will become one flesh." This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly.
In Ephesians 5:25 WEB, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;" and in Ephesians 5:22 WEB, "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord."
Please remember to support and encourage your husband to be the spiritual leader of the home. In Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB, "For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ is the head of the church, being himself the savior of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the church to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the church; because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones. "For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. Then the two will become one flesh." This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."
As you seek God's will for your marriage, remember that true love is patient, kind, and not self-seeking. It does not envy or boast, and it keeps no record of wrongs.
As the Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB, "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
Finally, continue to pray together and study God's Word as a couple, growing closer to each other.
We encourage you both to be in the world, but not of the world. Set yourselves apart and do not allow anyone else to come between your marriage.
