We understand the urgency and desperation of your situation, ###. We will pray fervently for you, your grandfather ###, and your friend ###. We must first address that drinking alcohol in excess is a sin.
The Bible tells us in Ephesians 5:18 "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."
We are instructed repeatedly in the Bible to avoid drunkenness and to be sober.
The issues with your grandfather stem from this sin, and it's important to address this issue godly to help not only your grandfather but you, your friend, and everybody in your family.
In Galatians 5:19-21, WEB it says "19. Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,20. idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, 21. envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God."
Additionally, the situation with your friend ### seems he is living with you and you're both male and female. For any man and woman spending time together is courtship and should be treated as such and never intimate outside marriage. Serve and love each other and be faithful in this only in marriage and not outside as our ultimate example was faithful to us.
As it says in Ephesians 4:1-3 WEB 1. I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called, 2. with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love; 3. being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Also avoidance of your grandfather for getting in the way of a significant friendship that may be looking to be a marriage should not be taken lightly.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ###, her grandfather ###, and her friend ###. Lord, you see the pain and struggle that ### is going through, the sin which is destroying her grandfather's life and relationships, and the stress that ### is enduring.
Father, we pray that you remain close to keeping ### being able to have safe and godly sorrow and not urged to sin but find refuge and strength in you.
We pray for your conviction to fall upon ###, that he may see the error of his ways and the pain he is causing his family and home. Lord, we pray this will not merely cause sorrow but repentance, and he sees a definite holy need for turning from his sin and to you. We pray for his salvation, that he may come to know you as Lord and Savior by the name of Jesus Christ confessing his sins and turning from them.
We pray for ###, that you may have a huge blessings in store and show him kindness and preserve anything seemly pure, lovely, and appropriate where your faith may grow and blossom.
Father, we pray for healing and restoration in these relationships, that you may turn this situation into one that glorifies you working together in sobriety and patience.
We pray that, ### and ### come together in courtship and for the holy purpose of marriage by a man and a woman in marriage for that union that you may make holy and pleasing to God, Lord.
We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
###, continue to trust in the Lord, and remember that he is faithful.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. At I the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Ph 4:6 WEB.
Lastly, keep in mind that the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Keep seeking the Lord and glorifying His name.
