We understand the urgency and desperation of your situation, ###. We will pray fervently for you, your grandfather ###, and your friend ###. We must first address that drinking alcohol in excess is a sin.

The Bible tells us in Ephesians 5:18 "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."
We are instructed repeatedly in the Bible to avoid drunkenness and to be sober.

The issues with your grandfather stem from this sin, and it's important to address this issue godly to help not only your grandfather but you, your friend, and everybody in your family.

In Galatians 5:19-21, WEB it says "19. Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,20. idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, 21. envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God."

Additionally, the situation with your friend ### seems he is living with you and you're both male and female. For any man and woman spending time together is courtship and should be treated as such and never intimate outside marriage. Serve and love each other and be faithful in this only in marriage and not outside as our ultimate example was faithful to us.

As it says in Ephesians 4:1-3 WEB 1. I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called, 2. with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love; 3. being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Also avoidance of your grandfather for getting in the way of a significant friendship that may be looking to be a marriage should not be taken lightly.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ###, her grandfather ###, and her friend ###. Lord, you see the pain and struggle that ### is going through, the sin which is destroying her grandfather's life and relationships, and the stress that ### is enduring.

Father, we pray that you remain close to keeping ### being able to have safe and godly sorrow and not urged to sin but find refuge and strength in you.

We pray for your conviction to fall upon ###, that he may see the error of his ways and the pain he is causing his family and home. Lord, we pray this will not merely cause sorrow but repentance, and he sees a definite holy need for turning from his sin and to you. We pray for his salvation, that he may come to know you as Lord and Savior by the name of Jesus Christ confessing his sins and turning from them.

We pray for ###, that you may have a huge blessings in store and show him kindness and preserve anything seemly pure, lovely, and appropriate where your faith may grow and blossom.

Father, we pray for healing and restoration in these relationships, that you may turn this situation into one that glorifies you working together in sobriety and patience.

We pray that, ### and ### come together in courtship and for the holy purpose of marriage by a man and a woman in marriage for that union that you may make holy and pleasing to God, Lord.

We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

###, continue to trust in the Lord, and remember that he is faithful.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. At I the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Ph 4:6 WEB.

Lastly, keep in mind that the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Keep seeking the Lord and glorifying His name.

Hey Alissa,

I totally understand the stress and urgency you're feeling right now. Your grandpa's behavior is causing you and your friend ### a lot of worry and anxiety. It's important to address this issue head-on and seek God's guidance in this matter.

Firstly, let's pray for your grandpa, ###. Lord, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ###, her grandpa, and her friend ###. We pray for ###'s salvation, that he may come to realize the error of his ways and turn from his sin. We ask for Your forgiveness for his actions and for him to make amends, especially to ###.

Now, let's also pray for ###. Father, we lift up ### in the name of Jesus Christ. We pray for her strength, courage, and wisdom in dealing with this situation. We ask for her safety and comfort, that she may continue to be a source of support and love for ###, even in the face of adversity.

Lastly, we pray for peace, unity, and patience in this family matter. Lord, we ask for healing, restoration, and restoration of these relationships, that ### and ### may work together in sobriety and patience, for the holy purpose of marriage.

Remember, ###, to keep trusting in the Lord. He is faithful and will not let you down. Keep seeking Him, and He will guide your hearts and minds.

Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep seeking the Lord in all things. He will make a way for you and grant you peace in the midst of this storm.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Hello, I actually understand what your grandfather is going through as I was a really really bad alcoholic myself just several years ago. It's demonic possession. Alcohol is called spirits for a reason. What helped me was AA. I found Jesus truly a few years ago but AA is a good support system for people who have no one. But he has to be willing to ever change (unless God does a miracle). Try taking him to an AA meeting though.....it's a good starting point. There is also something called ALANON for people like you and your family who have to deal with an alcoholic. Look them up and check a meeting out, it's very comforting to know you're not alone and learn how to handle living with or loving an addict or alcoholic....ALANON teaches you how.

Now I'll also pray but I wanted to mention those two things for you first. Because they definitely help. I couldn't speak highly enough of these programs. I wish more people knew about them.

Father God I pray for ###'s grandfather, that you heal his heart because most often we drink to numb trauma or pain we can't deal with ourselves. Lord I pray you guide them to where you want them, give them supportive people who understand and can help them, work through AA or ALANON if they go there. I pray that his grandfather gets delivered from his alcoholism and that the family realizes when he's drunk it's not HIM but a demon inhabiting him that is acting out. This will expose what is really happening in the spirit. Lord I pray this message helps them in some way, and that you give her the wisdom and guidance she needs to do what she can for her family. Father I pray for his grandfather's willingness to go to a meeting and to change, maybe go to detox and then get treatment, but more than anything the AA meetings do wonders for alcoholics, since I was one I know they work. Thank you father for my past because I can now minister to others in the same type of situations like this, and I pray you help this family be set free from the bondage of addiction. I bind and break the spirit of addiction in mighty name of Jesus Christ! I cast out the spirits of depression, hopelessness, rage, chaos, confusion, drunkenness, may they go back to where they came from and I intercede for this family Lord, in Jesus name. I pray for their restoration, healing, willingness to change, repent, and be freed from the bondage of addiction and trying to control others instead of relying on you Lord, in Jesus mighty name. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but spiritual wickedness in high places....and only you can change an alcoholic Lord. Hallelujah thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

We continue to lift up your grandfather ### ### in prayer, dear ###, just as you have requested. We are grateful that you have given us the privilege to stand in agreement with you in this time of need. It has been several days since you posted your urgent prayer request for your grandfather's alcoholism and the tension it has caused in your family.

We remain hopeful that the Lord has begun to work in your grandfather's life and in the dynamics of your family. If you have seen improvements in the situation, we would be blessed to hear about it.
