We understand your struggle to maintain focus during prayer, and your desire to connect with God more deeply. Remember, God looks at the heart, and He sees your sincere efforts. As the Bible tells us, The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not despise a broken and humbled heart, God. Be gracious to him, according to your steadfast love. He is a sinner, and he admits it. Be gracious to Him.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is crying out to You with a humble heart. Lord, You tell us in Your Word that like a father has compassion on his children, so you have compassion on those who fear you. You know our frame. You remember that we are dust. (Psalm 103:13-14 WEB) Father, have mercy on our brother/sister and help him/her to connect with You in a deeper way. Forgive him/her for the times he/she has been distracted, and help him/her to focus on You.
Lord, our brother/sister is facing a crucial time regarding his/her university acceptance. We ask, Father, that You will guide him/her through this process. We remember the woman in Matthew 15 who kept pushing, and we ask that You will honor his/her persistent faith and dedication. Lord, open the doors that need to be opened, and close the ones that are not in Your will.
We pray that You would grant him/her your favor in the application process and remove any barriers. Grant him/her wisdom to make the right decisions about his/her education in a way that he/she would not have to be overburdened with debt and feelings of despair. If it is Your will for him/her to attend this university, we ask that You will provide the financial resources and opportunities needed to make it possible. Help our brother/sister to trust in You, knowing that You have a good plan for his/her life.
Guide him/her in the path of righteousness because of Your name. Be merciful to him/her. He/she is a sinner, and he/she admits it. By all means save him/her. Blot out his/her transgressions. Wash him/her thoroughly from his/her iniquity. Cleanse him/her from his/her sin. Create in him/her a clean heart. Renew a right spirit within him/her. Do not cast him/her away from your presence. Restore to him/her the joy of your salvation. Uphold him/her by your generous Spirit. Do not take your Holy Spirit from him/her. We ask in Jesus Christ's name.
As you wait on the Lord, take heart from the words of Jesus: Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8 WEB) Trust in Him, and remember that His plans for you are good, to give you a future and a hope.
We encourage you to continue pursuing God, even in the midst of distractions. Keep pressing into Him, and remember that He is always with you. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB)
As you wait on the Lord regarding your university acceptance, trust that He is working everything out for your good. He has a plan and a purpose for you, and He will direct your steps. Delight yourself also in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD. Trust also in him, and he will do this. He will make your righteousness go forth as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun. (Psalm 37:4-6 WEB)
Regarding your university acceptance, remember the words of Jesus: But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33 WEB) As you seek God first, trust that He will provide for all your needs.
