In these troubled times, we stand with you in prayer, seeking God's intervention and mercy upon Ukraine and Russia. We are reminded of Jesus' words in John 16:33 WEB, "I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world."
Firstly, we pray for peace and the end of this conflict. We ask God Almighty to soften the hearts of those in power and grant them wisdom. May He confuse the plans of the wicked and protect the innocent. Psalm 33:10-11 WEB reminds us, "Yahweh brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect. The counsel of Yahweh stands fast forever, The thoughts of his heart to all generations."
Secondly, we pray for the rebuilding and restoration of Ukraine. We trust that even in this devastation, God can bring beauty from ashes and hope from despair. Isaiah 61:4 WEB says, "They shall build up the old wastes, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the waste cities, The desolations of many generations."
Let us also remember the spiritual warfare aspect of this conflict. Ephesians 6:12 WEB tells us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." We pray that God would raise up prayer warriors to intercede for these nations.
We also pray for the people of Russia, that God would open their eyes to the truth and break the strongholds of deception and propaganda. We desire their freedom just as much as we desire the freedom of Ukraine.
Lastly, we urge you to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. It is in His name that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are powerful and effective. Acts 4:12 WEB says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray. Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your mercy and grace to be poured out upon Ukraine and Russia. Bring an end to this war, Lord, and let Your will be done in these nations. Protect the innocent and provide for the needs of those affected by this conflict. We ask for Your wisdom and guidance for those in power. Help us not to be afraid and to trust in You during such times. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
