I have prayed many times since I found the Good News of Jesus to turn my will over to Him. I would pray God I turn my will over to you, I want Your will to be done. I would not want to sin but I found my self sinning more. For I felt shame and condemnation. But what I have learned, what I am still learning -praise God- is my lack of understanding of His Grace. For I lived by the law of Moses and not under the law of Grace. As I read my Bible I would always come back to Romans if like God put a fire in me. I always found such peace when I would read Paul's words.
One of my favorite part of Romans is 7 all of it but then 21-25 of the same chapter. He is talking about no longer being bound to the law. What does this mean. How are we Free from the law.
Paul is talking about how sin's power over him is produced by trying to live by the law. How miserable his life is. But only when he is free from the law by the "Finished Work" of Christ on the cross is he declared righteous before God. I have learned, Praise God, that to be declared righteous is to have no condemnation in the presence of God. To have this I must not live by the law but by the "Finished Work" of Christ on the Cross - GRACE. Therefore I am FREE from the law. When Christ died it made me righteous in God's eyes, BY FAITH, and all my past, present and future sins are forgiven. ALL OF THEM. Therefore I don't have to feel guilt or shame ever again, EVEN IF I SIN. For I am made righteous before God and he covers me with his GRACE. Being Free from guilt and shame is a powerful thing. Praise God
Does this mean I have a license to sin? Of course not. Only when I am Free from the law am I Free to receive God's Grace. Since I am Free of the law and now under Grace I find myself losing all desire to sin. But if I do sin I can "Boldly come to the throne of my most gracious God, there I will receive mercy and find Grace to help me when I need it most" Hebrews 4:16
What a beautiful thing to know that God no longer sees me with anger. When God looks at me he sees the "FInished Work" of Christ on the Cross. I am Free form the law and I am in the body of Christ by Faith in his Grace for me.....WOW
Praise God.....
Praise God. Now I can boldly come to Him and turn my will over to him and receive His will through His Glory and Love for me.
