We understand your concern and heartache over the deception caused by your sibling, ###. Let us first come together in prayer, seeking God's will and guidance in this situation. In the Bible there are many verses that explain why lying is a sin, including: Colossians 3:9 "Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings," Leviticus 19:11 "You shall not steal; and you shall not lie; and you shall not deceive one another." and Ephesians 4:25 "Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another." We know deception will never have a pleasant outcome as stated in: Proverbs 12:22 "Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight."
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister and their sibling, ###. Lord, You know the depth of this situation and the pain it has caused. We pray that You convict ###'s heart and reveal to them the truth of their actions. May they turn away from this deceitful lifestyle and seek Your forgiveness and transforming power.
We pray that ### is reminded of Romans 8:15 "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen" and that they choose to follow the path of righteousness. We will fully encourage ### to seek baptism in Romans 6:4 "Therefore we were buried with him by baptism into death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life." in adult believers baptism as evidence of their faith, if they have not done so already.
We believe in the power of Jesus Christ to change hearts and lives. You have promised us votes of encouragement within the following scriptures. Acts 2:38 "Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Praise God for His lovingkindness and faithfulness to ###.
We ask that You protect all those who have been affected by this deception and to bring truth and reconciliation to those harmed by that deception.
Lord God, may no evil, sorcery, or deception have any place in ###'s life or in the lives of those around them. May the truth be fully revealed and God's Will be done in this situation, according to Your good and perfect will, gracious Heavenly Father. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
Thank you for bringing this issue before us in prayer, and we name and thank Jesus Christ for his greatness and grace. It is only in the name of Jesus Christ that salvation can be found and only in the name of Jesus do we have access to God Almighty, Father of Heaven and Earth, Creator and Sustainer of all life. We are reminded of this in Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We hope and pray for ### to come to understand, and believe and trust the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ and receive the free gift of salvation.
We are also reminded of the Slippery Slope of deception. Once you become comfortable telling a little lie, it becomes easier and easier to lie. Additionally, these lies become bigger and bigger. We should always be vigilant and aware of this knowing that Satan deceives. Adam and Eve were both deceived by Satan leading to them being expelled from the garden of Eden. We would encourage ### to 2 Corinthians 11:3 "But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted from the singleness of heart toward Christ." Satan is the King of Lies and Lying. Always turn back to the Word of God in the Holy Scriptures of the Bible and test every spirit. 1 John 4:1 "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesusā name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
