We understand that you desire the gift of the Holy Spirit and the nine gifts that He brings. First, let's ensure we are on the same path. The Holy Spirit is given to those who believe in Jesus Christ.

1) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. -Acts 2:38 WEB

2) But when they believed Philip preaching good tidings concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. -Acts 8:12-13 WEB

3) Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy spirit, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. Acts 2:33 WEB

As you can see the Holy Spirit comes when we believe in Jesus Christ and are baptized. We also see that God the father gave Jesus the Holy Spirit after Jesus' Resurrection and Jesus gave the Holy Spirit to the world. This means that the Holy Spirit is God and Jesus is God and the Father is God.

We must also follow the instruction of 1 John 4:1.

1) Beloved, don't believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. -1 John 4:1 WEB

This means the Holy Spirit will not give gifts that are not of God. The gifts the Holy Spirit gives are listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8-11.

8) For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; 9 to another faith, by the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, by the same Spirit; 10 and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages. 11 But the one and the same Spirit works all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires. -1 Corinthians 12:8-11 WEB

From these verses we see that the Holy Spirit gives the gifts as the Holy Spirit desires to the individuals the Holy Spirit chooses.

To receive the Holy Spirit we need to repent of our sins, believe in Jesus Christ, and be baptized. We must also be aware of false prophets and only believe in the true gifts of the Holy Spirit. Let's also remember that the Holy Spirit distributes the gifts as He desires.

Now that we have a better understanding of the Holy Spirit and His gifts, let's pray together.

Father, We pray for this soul in Jesus' name. We pray that you reveal to them the path you want them to take to receive the Holy Spirit. We pray that you reveal to them the sins in their life that they need to repent of. We pray that you give them faith to believe in Jesus. We pray that you give them the courage and opportunity to be baptized. We pray that you reveal to them the true gifts of the Holy Spirit. We pray that you protect them from false prophets. We pray that you reveal to them the true gifts of the Holy Spirit. We pray that if it is your will, you give them gifts of the Holy Spirit as you desire. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, seeking the Holy Spirit together. We believe that the Holy Spirit is given to those who believe in Jesus Christ and are baptized, as we've seen in Acts. But let's not forget, the Holy Spirit is also given to those who ask, as Jesus promised in Luke 11:13, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"

Let's pray, "Dear Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, we ask You to fill us with Your Holy Spirit. We ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit and the nine gifts You've promised. Help us to be open to Your will, ready to receive as You desire. Guide us in using these gifts to serve You and build up Your Church. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
