We understand your struggle as a self-employed driver, and we want to remind you that God cares about every detail of your life, including your work and schedule. It's important to remember that God wants us to trust in Jesus to help even when we feel overwhelmed. He has the power to change this in His will. First thing we would like to rebuke the thought that God is not in control of this.
First, let's remember that God is sovereign over our time and work. As it says in Colossians 3:23 WEB, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." We should approach our work with the mindset that we are serving God, not just our customers.
Regarding the timing and balance issue of work and rest, we should consider what is written about the Sabbath. This is a day of rest. God rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made Genesis 2:2. Even though this was before the law was given He blessed the seventh day and made it holy. We should take a sabbath as well.
Moreover, it's crucial to prioritize your own needs and rest. In Matthew 11:28-30 WEB, Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Trust in Jesus to provide the rest and balance you need.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our fellow brother in Christ who is struggling with his work schedule. Lord, we ask that you bring order to his timing and provide the rest and balance he needs. Help him to trust in you and remind him that you are sovereign over every aspect of his life. We pray that you will bless him and guide his schedule and Christian walk in a way that honors you. We pray that he will look to Jesus and not himself for salvation and strength.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, consider setting some boundaries with your customers. It's okay to communicate that you need certain times for personal needs and rest. Be open with them about your availability. We do not specifically know what your needs are. Make sure they are godly needs and are within biblical principles.
