Prayer to help get a job closer to ###

Please pray for me to get employment closer to my home.
I drive 238 miles per day to
### in ###, ###.
An upscale living place for millionaire's/billionaire's.
I work the graveyard shift as a driving security officer in the community from 10am-6pm is getting to be too much.
I try very hard to make sure the client feels safe, secure, protected when I'm on duty but the drive and cost of the gasoline is too much for my family expenses. My wife/I just purchased a new home and don't want to be homeless. I did apply for a job closer to home with a company called ### in ###, ### and was excited when
### a recruiter for them called me. She asked for 5 dates with times to call for the 1st stage of the interview process but never called then today 3/28/2025 at 10am I get an email that they hired someone else without giving me a chance. That let my wife/I know that God didn't want me to have that job due to bypassing me when they initially reached out.
Please pray that I find something closer to home that pays $###/hr or more for a day-shift or swing-shift position. Because we pass each other every day and only see each other on our off days which has been going on for year's.
We're both ###yrs old and would like to retire but due to our finances have to keep working.

Firstly, we commend your dedication to your work and your commitment to your family. It's important to remember that God honors hard work and faithfulness. As it says in Colossians 3:23 WEB, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men."

However, we also see the strain that your current job is putting on your family life and finances. It's crucial to trust in God's provision and timing. As it says in Matthew 6:31-33 WEB, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."

Although you mentioned the name of Jesus Christ at the end of your request, remember that it is only by His name that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." And in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Concerning your job search, we encourage you to continue applying for jobs closer to home. We will pray that God opens the right doors for you.

We also want to address the issue of retirement. While it's understandable to want to retire, remember that God's timing is perfect. Continue to be faithful in your work and trust in His provision. As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is seeking employment closer to home. We pray that You would open the right doors for him and provide a job that meets his family's financial needs. We also pray for his family, that You would strengthen their bonds and provide for their every need according to Your riches in glory. Help him to trust in Your timing and provision. Give him the strength and endurance to continue working diligently as unto You. We ask all of this in Jesus name we pray.
