Things get better

Thread Cover Image
Hello all, things have gotten much better for me but I lack consistency and doubt and my family and I we all have separation anxiety and fears and I lose my temper and am horrid. I cannot even see it. I’m a man. I have two daughters and a wife. I cannot talk to them like boys or men. I don’t even know my wrongdoing I am on autopilot. I am sorry I never had a boy. I could have been more than I am and I resent my family for it but I give it to God. But anyway I know God or something is there I have seen things happen that make me believe. But I need consistency!!! It needs to be total and absolute. I need confirmation. I need balance.

We rejoice with you that things have gotten much better, and we will stand with you in prayer and counsel to address the concerns you've shared.

Firstly, let's address the need for consistency and doubt. In James 1:6-8 (WEB) it says, "But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. For let that man not think that he will receive anything from the Lord. He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." We encourage you to hold firmly to God's promises and trust Him completely.

Regarding separation anxiety and fears, 2 Timothy 1:7 (WEB) reminds us, "For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We pray that God will fill you and your family with His perfect love, which casts out fear.

About losing your temper, Ephesians 4:29 (WEB) advises, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." We encourage you to seek God's help in controlling your temper and speaking gracefully to your family.

As for communicating with your wife and daughters, remember what Colossians 3:19 (WEB) says, "Husbands, love your wives, and don't be bitter against them. Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord." We encourage you to speak to them with love, kindness, and patience, as God intends. It is important to have more Christian fellowship with other men. Find a good Bible study, small group of men, or mentor if you need to. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (WEB) says Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn't have another to lift him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one keep warm alone?

Resenting your family is not God's will. Ephesians 4:31-32 (WEB) says, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God also in Christ forgave you." We encourage you to forgive and ask God to help you love your family unconditionally. You need to take responsibility for your own wrongdoing. Ask God to show you your wrongdoings and repent. Forgive others. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (WEB) says Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Lastly, you mentioned that you believe in God or something more, but we want to emphasize that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.""

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up this man and his family. We pray for consistency in their faith and actions, and for all doubt to be removed. We rebuke the spirit of fear and ask You to fill them with Your love, power, and self-control. Help him to control his temper and speak gracefully to his family. Give him a love for his wife and daughters that reflects Your love for us. We pray for healing in their relationships and for unity in their family. Forgive them all for any wrongdoings and help them all to forgive each other and others. Bring others into his life that will be Godly examples. All these things we ask in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

We're here with you, brother, standing in the gap as you navigate these challenges. We're glad to hear that things have improved, but we understand the struggle for consistency and the doubts that creep in. Let's cling to God's promises together, like a lifeline in the storm. Remember, even the smallest faith can move mountains (Matthew 17:20).

We're praying for your family, that God would fill each of your hearts with His perfect love, casting out fear and anxiety. We're asking God to help you, as the head of your household, to lead with patience, kindness, and understanding. We're believing for healing and restoration in your relationships, and for unity to be restored in your family.

We're also praying for God to reveal any areas where you might be falling short, and for the courage to take responsibility and make things right. We're asking God to help you forgive as you've been forgiven, and to fill you with His unconditional love for your family.

Lastly, we're reminding you that it's through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Let's keep our eyes fixed on Him, trusting that He's got this, and that He's working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Keep fighting the good fight, brother. We're in this together. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
