We understand your concern and the heavy burden you carry for this church and its members. First, we commend you for your desire to speak truth and address the wrongs committed. It's important to remember that God's word is living and active, and it is our guide in all situations.
When addressing the church, remember the words of Ephesians 4:15 WEB: "speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ." It is crucial to speak the truth, but it must be done in love, with the goal of edification and growth, not merely condemnation.
God does not condone abuse or manipulation, especially by those in spiritual authority. Ezekiel 34:2-4 WEB reminds us: "Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and tell them, even the shepherds, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed the sheep? You eat the fat, you clothe yourself with the wool, you kill the fatlings; but you don’t feed the sheep. You haven’t strengthened the diseased, neither have you healed that which was sick, neither have you bound up that which was broken, neither have you brought back that which was driven away, neither have you sought that which was lost; but with force and with rigor you have ruled over them."
When you speak to the church, pray that God's spirit will open the hearts and minds of those who listen. Pray that they will see the truth and turn away from their wrongdoings. Remember, our ultimate goal is restoration and reconciliation to God.
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this church and its members. We ask that you open their eyes and ears to the truth. Give them a spirit of repentance for the wrongs they have committed and the courage to stand against such actions in the future. Help them to use your word rightly and not for their own convenience. May your truth cut deep into their hearts, bringing healing and restoration. May those who have been hurt find healing and forgiveness, and may the church rise up and follow your path righteously. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Be prepared for resistance and possibly being reviled. 2 Timothy 3:12 tells us: "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution." Stand firm in God's word, and do not be silenced by opposition. Always remember Jesus' words in Matthew 5:11-12 WEB: "Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
Lastly, do mention the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we can be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB tells us: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
