Let us address this situation with care and discernment. Aeliemir's mother has been a Christian for over a decade, which is wonderful, but she holds superstitious beliefs and prejudices that are not biblical. We must remember that God calls us to be discerning and to test every spirit to see whether they are from God. Superstitions get in the way of our walk with Christ.
Firstly, let us pray for Aeliemir's mother.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Aeliemir's mother. We thank You for her faith in You. Lord, we ask that You reveal to her the truth of Your word and help her to discern between what is godly and what is not. Help her to see that her superstitious beliefs and prejudices are not from You and to turn away from them. We pray that You will guide her into all truth and fill her with Your Spirit. Lord, we pray in Jesus name for her to be released from these ungodly beliefs.
Lord, we also lift up Aeliemir, asking that You grant them wisdom and discernment as they navigate this situation. Help them to be a light to their mother and to speak the truth in love.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Now, let us address the issues at hand.
The Bible tells us to be sober-minded and to test every spirit. There are many spirits of deception in the world today, and we must be discerning. The Bible tells us, But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil. Hebrews 5:14 WEB.
We must remember that God looks at the heart, and we are not to judge others based on their appearance or other superficial things.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28 WEB.
For God doesn't show favoritism. Romans 2:11 WEB
But the Lord said to Samuel, "Don't look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I see not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7 WEB.
Regarding the belief that men are supposed to be ugly and do all the hard work, this is not biblical. God created both men and women in His image, and both are called to work and to take care of His creation.
God blessed them. God said to them, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth." Genesis 1:28 WEB.
We must also address the issue of prejudice. Prejudice is a sin, and it is not godly. God calls us to love others as He has loved us. This includes our neighbor. Jesus taught us in the parable of the good Samaritan that our neighbor is to be anyone in our path needing our help.
But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus, "Who is my neighbor?" Jesus answered, "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side. In the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion, came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the host, and said to him, 'Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.' Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?" He said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise." Luke 10:29-37 WEB.
Aeliemir, we encourage you to speak to your mother about these things in love. Share the truth of God's word with her and pray for her. Remember that God is the one who changes hearts, and it is our job to pray and to speak the truth in love.
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honourable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 WEB.
Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Colossians 4:6 WEB.
Continue to pray for your mother and to trust in God. He is faithful, and He will hear your prayers.
