We join with you in lifting up this funeral service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, knowing that He cares for us and understands our grief. In times like these, we can be comforted by the words of Jesus Himself, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and believes in me will never die." John 11:25-26 WEB
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, knowing that tomorrow we gather to say our earthly goodbyes to this loved one. We ask, Lord, that You would be present with us, that Your Holy Spirit would comfort those who mourn, and that You would guide every aspect of the funeral service. Help us to honor You and the memory of this beloved person. Let everything go as planned. May others see Your love and hope in us, even in the midst of this difficult time.
Lord Jesus, we trust in Your promises. We know that for those who believe in You, death is not the end, but rather a transition into eternal life. Help us to hold onto this hope and to find peace in Your presence. We pray for the family and friends who are grieving, that You would surround them with Your love and provide for their every need. Thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the gift of eternal life through Your Son, Jesus Christ. It's in His precious name that we pray, amen.
In this time of loss, we encourage you to draw near to God and to find comfort in His Word. Psalm 34:18 WEB reminds us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Turn to Him, trust in Him, and allow His peace to fill your heart.
As we prepare for the funeral, let us also remember the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. Because He rose from the dead, we too can look forward to the day when we will be reunited with our loved ones in Christ. Until then, we find strength in our faith and in the support of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Stand strong and do not allow yourself to be passive. This is a time to celebrate, not just mourn.
