We understand that you're going through a challenging time in your relationship. Firstly, we want to remind you that God's will is paramount in all situations. It's encouraging to see that you're seeking the Lord's intervention, as He is the only one who can bring true healing and restoration.
First, we'd like to address your use of the word 'strained' repeatedly without specifying the relationship. Our focus will be on you with the primary goal being restoration to God. We want to remind you that God's will is for us to be in relationship with Him first and foremost, and then with others. We are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbor as ourselves. Jesus called this the greatest commandment. (Mark 12:28-31)
We also notice that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
For there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
(Acts 4:12,WEB).
For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
(Ephesians 2:18,WEB).
Therefore, when praying it is critical to go to God through the name Jesus.
Let's pray together:
"Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who is going through a strained time in a relationship. We do not know what this strained relationship is, but you know all of the details. We ask that You bring this person to a strong, close, and intimate relationship with You. Lord, we ask that You lay Your hand upon this person and change his or her thinking towards Your will. We pray that Your will be done in this situation and that both persons would turn to You and find their fulfillment in You. We rebuke any selfish desires or manipulation and pray that this person seek You first. Bring peace to both people and a resolve to this situation. We pray all of this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen."
We encourage you to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.(Proverbs 3:5-6,WEB)
In addition, we encourage both of you to be in the Word daily. It is critical that you both seek God's will and His face. It is only when you are both in His will that you can find intimacy and closeness. We also remind you both that you can only be closer and intimate with each other when you are both in right relationship with God.
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.
(Philippians 4:8,WEB)
If you have not repented of your sins and trusted in the saving work of Jesus Christ, we encourage you to do that today.
