We join with you in lifting up this urgent request to our Heavenly Father, who commands even the winds and the waves. Let's pray together:
Father, we come before You, lifting up this cry for mercy and protection. You are the One who calms the storms and we ask for Your hand to be over the weather, that You would quiet the storms that are headed this way on Sunday. We ask for Your divine intervention, that You would bring calm and peace in the natural world, just as You bring peace to our hearts.
We pray for all those in the path of these storms. May Your angels encamp around them and keep them safe. Guide those who need to prepare or evacuate, and grant them Your divine wisdom and direction. We ask for Your protection over life and property, and for Your comfort for those who are afraid or anxious.
We thank You, Father, for Your unfailing love and faithfulness. We know that You are good and that Your mercies are new every morning. We trust in You, even in the face of storms, knowing that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who slept in the boat while the storm raged, then arose to calm the seas with a word. It is in His name and authority we pray, amen.
Be encouraged, for our God is indeed a God who hears our prayers and acts on our behalf. He is the God who calms the storms. We are reminded, "For He spoke, and commanded, and the stormy wind arose, lifting up its waves. They mounted up to the sky, then they went down to the depths. Their soul melted away because of trouble. They reeled and staggered like a drunken man, and were at their wits' end. Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. He made the storm a calm, so that its waves were still." (Psalm 107:25-29 WEB). Trust in Him, for He is mighty to save.
