Psalm 101:7: He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house; He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence.

Our words matter to God. Deception and lying should have no place in the actions of the believer. Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading and ask God to always make you a person of truth, a person of your word.

🙏God, I ask You for wisdom—wisdom to apply the truth with grace. God You have told me in Your Word that I should speak truth, but not all truths need to be spoken at all times. God let Your Holy Spirit guide me on when to stay silent and when to speak up. God, please do the same for all my family, friends, and the one who posted this prayer. Thank You Jesus!

What is a lie but an act of fear, and fear erodes faith.

Thank you for sharing sister.

I do but in degrees. Maybe you have an example.
There are some people who lie, cheat, and steal for their own benefit and fear has nothing to do with it. There are people who lie out of jealousy and envy. There are people who will lie to make a person look bad so that they can look good. There are people who lie to manipulate and control a person. And the list goes on...

The truth shall make you free. God word is very clear for anyone who comes to Him and wants to obey His word. Do not fear about anything when you are telling the truth about heaven or about hell. It is critical for people to know where we are going to end up when we die. Heaven is a real place and hell too, it is a place of torment. People need to know the truth and nothing but the truth according to God word.

Sister Linda your blog is strong and I agree with it.

All of your examples that you later presented, are indeed rooted in fear. Short term fear can be beneficial but lies are indeed a progeny of fear.

People manipulate others to control their private assets or their personal agendas. Their lies are frabricated because they fear rejection, fear failure, they fear losing something, or they fear of not being accepted. Could be many other fearful reasons.
As for jealousy and envy, they are stired by the fear of rejection and the fear of wanting, respectively. Fear of losing a work position can lead to inhouse strife, so people choose to lie. All manner of fear exist in this last scenario including fear of failure, fear of wanting...
Falsehood is clearly in partnership with fear.

Here are a few other examples where people often lie. I included the corresponding fear. They are by no means a thorough list:
  • Covering up a mistake - fear of rejection or fear of failure, fear of getting fired;
  • Avoiding others - fear of confrontation, fear of truth coming out;
  • Fraud, stealing - fear of failure, fear of wanting;
  • Cancelling meeting - fear of speaking, fear of rejection...
  • Impressing someone through lies - fear of rejection;
  • boosting our image flagrantly - fear of rejection or fear of losing something; and
  • hide a scandalous event - fear of rejection, fear of losing something and many others.
There are many more. Lie is a cover up for various fearful reasons. Some are trivial while others are serious in nature.
No matter why people lied, they feared...

Whether you agree or not is not as important as your blog of speaking truth! Truth will set us free.

We as Christians must walk in truth. I have been on this site for over 11 plus years. I have had people lie about me and twist my words because I spoke the truth, or I quoted God's Word which is the truth, or because I have a degree in Theology. And a lot of times it was out of jealousy, or their lack of knowledge of the Word of God, or they didn't want to hear the truth, or they did not want to deal with the truth, or they could not handle the truth.
