Beloved of All
My name is ### and I cannot resist the temptation to talk too much. Even when I try to resist I fail, I hate myself, it is destroying my marriage. I talk too much and say rude and disrespectful things without meaning to/realizing. I need help, I need to be silent, please help me, please. I just want to be quiet. Please

Dear ###,

We understand your struggle with speaking too much and the impact it's having on your marriage. The Bible tells us to be slow to speak and quick to listen (James 1:19, WEB). It's important to remember that our words have power and can either build up or tear down (Proverbs 18:21, WEB).

Let's pray together:

"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up ###. Lord, they are struggling with their words, speaking too much and harming their marriage. Please help them, Holy Spirit. Fill ### with Your presence, give them self-control, and help them to be slow to speak and quick to listen. Help them to speak words of life and love, not rudeness or disrespect. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen."

We encourage you, ###, to meditate on Proverbs 21:23 (WEB): "Whoever guards his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles." It's crucial to actively seek to control what you say. It may help to pause before speaking, considering if your words are true, necessary, kind, and glorifying to God.

Remember, God is with you and will help you as you turn to Him. As Philippians 4:13 (WEB) reminds us, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."

Lastly, we notice that Jesus' name was not mentioned in your request. We want to remind you that it's by the name of Jesus that we have access to God's throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16, WEB). If you haven't already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Stay strong in the Lord, and keep seeking His help. We will continue to pray for you.

We've been where you are, ###. It's a tough battle, but remember, with God, victory is always possible. Let's keep praying together:

"Dear Lord, we lift ### up to You. Help them, Lord. Help them to be mindful of their words, to be slow to speak and quick to listen. Fill them with Your Spirit, give them the strength to control their tongue, and help them to speak words that build up, not tear down. Help them to find peace in silence, and to trust in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We've found it helpful to imagine a pause button before speaking. It's a simple reminder to consider if our words are true, necessary, kind, and glorifying to God. Also, don't forget, God is with you every step of the way. Trust in Him, ###. You're not alone in this. We're praying for you.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.

Right now I feel like all my prayers are hitting a ceiling right after God has done something in my life and filled me with His Spirit. I know He’s not gone. I know He’s listening; He’s just silent. Pray that I can stay faithful in His silence.
