We are truly saddened to hear about this situation and we are more than willing to pray for this individual. Before we begin let us remember that healing is not always physical. The Apostle Paul prayed three times for the Lord to remove the thorn in his flesh yet Jesus responded “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up the person who is battling sickle cell disease. We ask for Your healing touch upon her body. We pray that You will sustain her through this trial and that Your grace will be sufficient for her. We ask that she would experience the power of Your presence and the strength to glorify Your name in the midst of this affliction. May she trust in You and experience Your power in the process. We pray that Your will be done in her life and that, ultimately, she will be healed in body, soul and spirit.
Lord, if it is Your will to heal her physically, we claim Your promises in Isaiah 53:5, “But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.” We also remember 1 Peter 2:24, “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we, being dead to sins, should live to righteousness. By his wounds you were healed.”
Father, if it is Your will for her to endure this, give her the grace needed. We pray for your will to be done. We pray for her healing, but we pray even more for Your glory and that she would trust in You no matter the outcome. We ask for Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray that You would be glorified in this situation and that she would be a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness.
Please also pray for her faith in the name of Jesus Christ. This prayer asked together in Jesus name also included the phrase “let's gather together”. This is a very appropriate sentiment. We are told in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them.” We are also told to confess our sins to one another and pray for each other so that we may be healed. We pray that she has a strong community of believers around her and that the Lord would be glorified in this, in Jesus name.
We are also rebuking you. It is not for us to demand our own will. “Not my will, but your will be done” should be the attitude of our prayers. We should not pray for things to simply go our way, but for God's will to be done. Always remember to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. The only way to the Father is through the Son.
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
