We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you are facing in your marriage and the distress caused by your mother-in-law's actions. Let us come together in prayer and seek God's will for your situation.
Firstly, we commend you for your patience and endurance throughout these trying times. The Bible tells us in James 1:2-4 (WEB), "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."
However, we must also address the underlying issues in your marriage. While a mother-in-law can often cause a lot of difficulties, the Bible says the following in Mark 10:8-9 about marriage and separation, "and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate." There is no reason to allow a mother-in-law to separate a marriage. God does not want that man and wife to be separated.
It is crucial to remember that God hates divorce, as stated in Malachi 2:16 (WEB), "'For I hate divorce,' says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'and him who covers his garment with violence!' says Yahweh of Armies. 'Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.'"
We must also address the issue of using bad words and losing your temper. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:29 (WEB), "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." It is important to remain calm and speak with grace, even in difficult situations.
Let us pray together for your marriage, your husband, and your mother-in-law.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ who is facing immense trials in her marriage. Lord, You know the pain and suffering she has endured at the hands of her mother-in-law, and the strain this has put on her relationship with her husband.
Father, we pray for a hedge of protection around her marriage, that no scheme of the enemy will prevail against it. We pray for her husband, that his heart would be turned back towards her, and that he would see the truth in this situation. We pray that the mother-in-law will be convicted in her heart for the wrong being done and repent.
We ask that You would help her to forgive her mother-in-law for the pain she has caused, and to release any bitterness or resentment. We pray that You would give her the strength to endure, the wisdom to navigate this situation, and the grace to respond with love and kindness.
Lord, we ask for a miracle in this situation. That You would soften hearts, open eyes, and bring healing and restoration to this marriage. We pray for Jesus to work in each of their hearts to bring reconciliation. We ask all of this in Jesus Christ's name.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and to trust in the Lord. Remember that the battle is not yours, but God's (2 Chronicles 20:15). Continue to seek the Lord, and He will guide you through this storm.
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is so important to pray in the name of Jesus. As it says in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" and in Acts 4:12 (WEB) "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" You did great by acknowledging this in your prayer request. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray for you.
