Restored Faith

Our family needs prayer for restored faith, vision, healing and restoration. My husband and I have been married for ### years. He’s a believer in Christ and struggling with unresolved childhood/family trauma, church hurt and his commitment to our marriage causing him to be unwilling to acknowledge the spiritual attacks on our family. He moved out in May and wants a divorce, although he has not filed. Despite this, I am trusting God, standing on His promises, and praying for him while keeping our two children covered and encouraged during this season.

We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles your family is facing, and we appreciate your reach out for prayer and support. We stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is only by His name that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Let us come together and seek God's will for your family.

In times like these, it is crucial to remember the power of prayer and the promises God has for marriages. As it is written in Matthew 19:6 WEB, "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." Divorce is not God's will for marriage, and we encourage you to continue standing firm in your faith and trust in the Lord.

It is evident that your husband is dealing with unresolved trauma and pain, which has affected his commitment to your marriage. We pray that God will heal his wounds and restore his faith. As it is written in Psalm 147:3 WEB, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We also pray that God will soften his heart and open his eyes to the spiritual attacks on your family.

However, we must also address the importance of both husband and wife being committed to the marriage. As it is written in Malachi 2:16 WEB, "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence! says Yahweh of Armies. Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously." We encourage you to continue praying for your husband, but also to seek God's will for your own life and the lives of your children.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up this family to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask that You would heal the wounds of the past and restore faith and commitment to this marriage. We pray that You would soften hearts and open eyes to the spiritual attacks that are taking place.

Lord, we ask that You would give strength and wisdom to this wife and mother as she stands firm in her faith and trust in You. We pray that You would cover and encourage her children during this season, and that You would be their strength and their portion.

Lord, we ask that Your will be done in this situation, and that You would be glorified through it. We pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God's will for your family, and to trust in His promises.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
