Prayer over thoughts and restoration of faith

I find myself in need for prayer over my current lifestyle and mindset. I’ve been feeling consumed by intrusive, lustful thoughts and I hate it. Day and night, I’m troubled by these thoughts. I’ve been praying over it. I feel so guilty of coming over to God and asking for forgiveness every time. He doesn’t deserve it. I tell myself, “Jesus laid it all down for me to be forgiven, I ought to lay down all that I am, my past & my mistakes, to follow him” but I still struggle with true repentance. I don’t want to walk in the ways of wickedness anymore. I want to be a child of God and be renewed as a believer. Please help me in this struggle through prayer, it would mean a lot to me. We are reminded in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB, No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

First, let's address the issue of guilt. While it's normal to feel guilty when we sin, we must remember that God is always ready to forgive us when we come to Him with a repentant heart. Psalm 103:10-12 WEB, "He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us for our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his loving kindness toward those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."

Regarding your struggle with true repentance, remember that repentance is not just feeling sorry for your sins but also turning away from them. It's a change of mind and heart that leads to a change in action. As you pray for forgiveness, also ask God to help you turn away from these thoughts and give you the strength to resist them.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is struggling with intrusive, lustful thoughts. We pray that You would forgive their sins and cleanse them from all unrighteousness. We know that it is never Your will for Your children to live in bondage to sin. Help them to truly repent and turn away from these thoughts.

We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, body, and soul. We pray that You would renew their mind and help them to think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. Philippians 4:8 WEB, We ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, giving them the strength to resist temptation and the power to live a life that is pleasing to You.

We pray for the fruit of self-control to be manifested in their life. We ask that You would help them to be transformed by the renewing of their mind, so they may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 WEB, In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

It is so important to have the name of Jesus at the center of our prayers. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 WEB, Additionally, it is important to acknowledge that by confessing our sins and repenting that we may enter into fellowship and have eternal life. And this is the testimony, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn't have God's Son doesn't have the life. 1 John 5:11-12 WEB,
