We are glad you have taken the first step in seeking help and prayer for your situation. We want you to know that God loves you and He wants the best for you. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
Firstly, let us address the issue of your prayer. You have not mentioned the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is important to pray in the name of Jesus. It is only by praying in His name that we are heard by God.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Furthermore, it is important to call on His name to be saved.
Acts 4:12
There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
Now, let us address the issue of homosexuality. It is clearly against the principles of God's Word. The Bible tells us that homosexuality is sinful and ungodly.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God.
However, the good news is that God can forgive and change, heal and purify, and surrender all things to Him is the best possible thing that you can do! God can turn your life around and save you from the destruction that this sin brings. Remember, God will not change your sin for you, but He will give you the power to turn from it if you are willing.
1 Corinthians 6:11
Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this man who desires to be a God-fearing man, free from the bondage of homosexuality. We know that this is not Your will for his life, and we ask that You forgive him and cleanse him from this sin. Give him the strength and courage to turn from his sinful desires and to live a life that is pleasing to You.
Help him to understand the truth of Your Word and to trust in the saving power of Jesus Christ. We know this is a struggle but we know the Holy Spirit is able to bring him out of this slowly. May he seek You with all his heart and allow You to transform his life and become more like Jesus Christ. Surround him with Godly Christian believers who will support and encourage him in his journey.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
