We join you in prayer for reconciliation. God desires that we live in harmony with one another, and He can bring restoration to your relationship if it is His will.
Firstly, we must address that the term "girlfriend" suggests a dating relationship. The Bible encourages us to pursue relationships that are honorable and focused on marriage (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5). We pray that you are seeking a marriage based on God's principles.
We will pray that God will remove any obstacles. However, we must be careful when we ask for removal of obstacles or negative influences. The Bible warns us to be mindful of the company we keep (1 Corinthians 15:33). Ensure that your relationship is honoring God and aligned with His word (2 Corinthians 6:14).
Our prayer for you is that God would make clear His plans for you. God may choose to reconcile this relationship, or He may have another path for you. God knows what is best for you.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our brother in Christ. We pray for Your will to be done in his life and for the desire of his heart concerning his relationship.
Father, if it is Your will, we pray for reconciliation, for peace, love, and understanding to be restored between them. We ask that You would remove any obstacles, negative influences, or malicious intent that may be keeping them apart.
If this relationship is not aligned with your will, we pray you will give him the faith to accept this and reveal the path you have laid out for him.
We ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen. Be encouraged, and may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We pray that you both are walking in obedience to God's word and are equally yoked as believers (2 Corinthians 6:14).
