You know...as we get older, things seem to become "clearer" to us, meaning, we can see things which when we're younger we don't always realize. And we see that where we are in life is where we put ourselves to be.We didn't get there by chance. For myself, when I was young {teens},I thought advancing myself was too "tedious',and so I chose to give in to the "instant gratification" of "copping out",without considering the long range outlook.{A few other categories, too.}After that, even when older, I made a mistake or two, which at the time, not having full foresight, seemed "alright".Now, I see that it did more harm than good.I also know 2 ladies I deal with job related, one came here on a temporary visa, and overstayed, figuring now she has her "foot in the door". But like in my case, she didn't look towards the future. Now, her son got killed back in Jamaica, and she can't even go to the funeral because when she tries to come back here, they'll see she doesn't have proper documentation, and not let her back. So she has to miss her sons funeral, which is tragic, but again, she CHOSE what she did. Another one who is illegal here also now has numerous things holding her back, and again, it was off of her decision. Add to this some biblical cases, when Moses chose to hit the rock, God didn't let him enter the Promised land .Lots wife looked back after being instructed not to, and became a pillar of salt. The point? I realized with my own life, and on to the others, that we do reap what we sow, and that if we make a decision based on an "immediate gratification" response instead of using wisdom,we can't blame others if we make a wrong choice, and the circumstances respond to our choice. We reap what we sow.Let's all pray for wisdom.

You reap what you sow, more than you sow, and later than you sow.

1. The principle applies to everyone, both Christians and non-Christians. This principle is irrevocable; there is no escape, either for the believer or for the unbeliever. It is a law of life.

Galatians 6:7 begins? “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked.” Herein lies the root cause of the careless and indulgent lifestyle of many people. They are deceived. They either do not believe the truth, or they think they will somehow be the exceptions to God’s laws.

To mock God is to turn up one’s nose at Him, to hope to outwit Him—a foolish thought, as 2 Corinthians 5:10 reveals: “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”

If you were required to appear before the judgment seat of Christ in the next five minutes, what kind of crops would you have to show?

2. We reap what we sow....The fact that we reap what we sow is good news for those who sow good habits, but a frightening thought for those currently involved in ungodly activities such as promiscuity, drug and alcohol abuse, neglect of family, or mistreatment of others in order to climb the ladder of success. We cannot sow crabgrass and expect to reap pineapples. We cannot sow disobedience to God and expect to reap His blessing. What we sow, we reap. Let us not deceive ourselves: We will reap the harvest of our lives.

3. We reap more than we sow...Why do farmers plant their seed? Because they expect to harvest a great deal more than they sow. A single seed that sprouts can yield dozens, scores, even hundreds of seeds. It is the same way with both sin and righteousness—a small decision to do either good or bad reaps a much bigger crop, for either joy or sorrow.

Jesus used the picture of a sprouting seed to show that when we allow God’s Word to produce good things in us, the results multiply: “The one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty” (Matt. 13:23). On the other side of the ledger, the prophet Hosea describes what awaits those who choose to sow seeds of wickedness: “They sow the wind and they reap the whirlwind” (Hos. 8:7).

4. We reap later than we sow... Some are deceived because their present seed does not appear to be producing an immediate crop. So they continue down their course, mistakenly believing that there will never be a harvest. But unlike the crops of the field, which get harvested at approximately the same time each year, there is no regular timetable for the harvest of life. Some crops we reap quickly; others take a long time. But do not be deceived—their season will come. And by going the second mile now and giving more than is required, we will reap rich dividends later.

“For whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.” What a comforting and assuring thought to those who faithfully labor under difficult circumstances. Faithfulness in such situations will produce a rich harvest in the future, for our heavenly Father always keeps His promises.

We have learned in Sunday School that Jesus is looking at our heart, what we want and desire. If you have given yourself to Jesus and love Him and want to serve Him all the days of your life, then blessings upon blessings shall come to you. But if you leave Jesus behind you and do not obey His word, then depression, pain and sorrow shall come to you. Whatever we do in life should be done all to the glory of God the Father. He delights in the praises of HIs people. Join the choir of your church and start singing praises to God almighty.

The only thing with exceptions, I can't understand how some constantly eat high calorie foods, but remain thin, or some eat foods high in fat, but their cholesterol levels remain low. How they "get around" the reaping and sowing consequences,I don't know.Or the ones who are chain smokers for years, but die at an older age than many who don't smoke,, and never get lung cancer like others. It blows my mind how some seemingly "get around" reaping and sewing.

Eat healty foods. Junk foods and all kinds of evil addictions will get you to the grave faster than anything else. Ask Jesus to give you wisdom from heaven. Yes, we shall reap what we sow. We must be very careful with our words and actions too. They affect people here on earth. Remember this, we shall give an account to God for what we said and done here on earth.

There hardly seems anymore could be said, because truth is truth. Mistakes and bad decisions in youth can teach us in later years but woe to us if we ignore the lessons! Our God is a patient God and knows how to deal with His unruly children! Give the glory to God-- that you have survived and been forgiven those errors, stay close to the Word, and bury the old man for you are new in Christ.

But no one addressed these "freaks" who are immune to reaping and sewing , gorge themselves but remain thin;chain smoke but outlive most others, high fat foods but have low cholesterol levels, etc.

Yes, even our eternal destiny , if someone is witnessed to but decides to reject it for the "curent pleasures", when they die maybe 30 years later and they're in Hell, again this is based on the decision they made when they made it. So even that...

Steven, those freaks who disobey Gods word need our prayers. They are in the hands of satan and he will not let them go. Jesus said, pray without ceasing. We must do so. Daily, early in the morning, at noon, before our meal time. Wherever we are, pray for those who are sowing for the flesh and material possesions. They need Gods hands of mercy and compassion. Invite them to church. Make sure they get saved and on their way to heaven.
