As believers in Jesus Christ, we are indeed called to engage in spiritual warfare. The Bible tells us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms Ephesians 6:12 WEB. We are encouraged to be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes Ephesians 6:11 WEB.
Spiritual warfare is not about waging war with physical weapons, but with spiritual ones. It involves praying according to God's will, resisting temptation, and standing firm in our faith. We are told that our weapons have divine power to demolish strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4 WEB. These strongholds can include false arguments, pride, and anything that sets itself up against the knowledge of God.
When we engage in spiritual warfare, we should remember that our battle is not against people, but against the spiritual forces that influence them. Our goal is to see people freed from the enemy's grasp and brought into the kingdom of God. Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, ready to engage in the spiritual battle before us. We put on the full armor of God, standing firm in the truth of your word, protected by the righteousness of Christ, and shod with the readiness of the gospel of peace. We take up the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is your word Ephesians 6:13-17 WEB.
Guide us, Lord, as we pray and intercede. Help us to wage war against the spiritual forces of evil, not with our own strength, but with yours. Give us discernment to know how to pray and to see the strongholds that need to be demolished.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, brothers and sisters, we have authority in Jesus' name to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will in any way harm us Luke 10:19 WEB. However, we must stay vigilant and humble, knowing that our strength comes from the Lord. Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8 WEB.
In all things, let us give thanks to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ 1 Corinthians 15:57 WEB. We fight from a place of victory, not for victory. Stand firm, therefore, knowing that our labor is not in vain in the Lord 1 Corinthians 15:58 WEB.
